some of my favorite purples as we trade the Prada lavender/lilac craze of 2020 (although still happening for menswear 2026+) for a 2026 VIOLET FALL. Think plum..cyber grape...indigo. Starting with my fav Anna Sui 1993 look. Pierre Cardin wooly purples. A maypop passion flower which sits perfectly inbetween the two crazes. My purple skirt with its perfect red counterpart. Punk exhibit iris. My indigo Bottega AW 19/20 sponge bag I somehow acquired on what was supposed to be a stop for gas coming home in Joshua Tree. (Bottega Joshua Tree outlet...dopaminergic) And Grimace, our perpetual purple prince. Would've included Harold and his crayon here but I don't care much for him

Shorefront: Where Water Meets Industry with @chashama, opened last night.

Li’l Abner boots, is a pressing of a pair of work boots into stoneware. They came from Frankel’s, the Sunset Park workwear shop open since 1890, which has dressed the waterfront’s longshoremen and ironworkers for generations. Lent by Marty Frankel, the store’s third-generation owner.

It’s part of a larger project sponsored by @nycedc about the labor history held in the things we wear and the places we work. The boots extend my permanent installation upstairs, Site Archive: MADE Bush Terminal, five stoneware reliefs honoring Bush Terminal and the Sunset Park waterfront, where it has stood since 1895. The permanent install explores the labor and lives folded into the clothing we wear, make, and inhabit.

The show is up through August in the lobby of MADE Bush Terminal, Building A. Come by if you can.

So grateful to @chashama, @nycedc, @ashstaging, @sam_inblue, and @madebushterminal.
