THE WINS (WORDS I NEVER SAID) A 90 piece art collection By Me. A 90 piece art collection about reflection and shedding light on the imperfections that helped shape the art. Colors and shapes meant to connect with words and meaning.. The First part of the collection is Called The Roots 40 11x14 art pieces For the First part I created something that felt like home. Using colors and elements that make sense of the roots, to expand and grow from that. For me these are colors of Home. We’ll have open studios, open hearts & plenty to shop in our new Art House, including locally designed clothes, original art, jewelry, mosaics, crafts & more. 🤩 Out on the Back Lane, we cordially invite you to dillydally the afternoon away with more vendors, a pet photo booth by @heatherbroomhall plus @okieitalianice & food popups by Wompa chefs @chef_taylor_latouche & Curtis Linam. The closeup of the WOMPA main lobby mural is the work of longtime master artist-in-residence Skip Hill, whose paintings & mixed-media collage can be found throughout our campus. Skip also curates our monthly gallery exhibitions, hanging & helping promote underdog & established artists alike. It’s not easy to get ahold of Skip, but he can be found most mornings on the WOMPA terrace, Tulsa skyline like a halo behind him. His art practice is quiet. He approaches the canvas anew each day with a steady hand. And a couple of smart-ass, well-earned words of advice. He’s become a mentor, collaborator & constant source of inspiration to the artists and makers here. This is the beating heart of WOMPA Art House Markets. Not simply setting up booths and selling things. But a commitment to opening our doors twice a month, inviting you into the studios and introducing you to artists like Skip. Come wander the studios. Meet working artists. Discover makers. See what they’re creating. Eat something tasty. Hear some music. Buy art directly from the people who made it.
