Today we celebrated Maka’s heavenly birthday! (He would’ve turned 12 this year)🐾🩵
Kaiteki and Pono enjoyed birthday dessert with Maka! This years “cake” was a little different😅 it featured their favorite, vanilla ice cream, natural peanut butter, banana slices, frosted cookie and cool whip!🩵🐾

Kirby Art + Stars! Merch by SkirkoCo!

Hola! Buenas!

Recently, I decided to make a purchase, I really wanted to try Etsy. Mostly, since it’s a lot of small businesses and I’m trying to find more ethical ways to shop. So, I took some advice, did a lot of research, and found the cutest Kirby MERCH!!!

On Etsy, I went to a shop called SkirkoCo! And, -oh my stars!!- they are so amazing! I made my purchase three days ago and got it tonight! I love a good Kirby merch and this one was so cute! I even got the card holder which was adorable!

Of course, I had to get the -COOL- Squirtle because I love Squirtle and sushi! And, I did not not expect to get a freebie! —AHH!— Piplup is also a favorite! I just really like a lot of Pokemon. It was so unexpected and I loved it all so much!

I just really wanted to make a good post because I love how they look and I’m literally going to take the Kirby badge and the Kirby Card Holder to work! —I am so EXCITED!— I do want to say that it is super important now to be supportive!

Even if my voice is small, let me say it a lot more often—

A special Pono post! Because yes, I have TWO dogs! (But my grief rules my life and recent posts have been focused on just one).
Pono has been my saving grace the past 3 months! He helped me move on with life beyond the despair of losing my soul dog!🩵🐶he sat by my side, made sure I filled my day with routines and filled the space that Maka normally would’ve occupied. I don’t know how I would’ve navigated the remainder of March and April without him!🩷when I needed a shoulder most he was there! When I needed a reminder that life moves on (and to stay healthy) he was there!
A special shout out to Pono for helping to pull me out of what could’ve potentially been a heavy downward spiral!
He also has his own health concerns which we continue to monitor and treat! He seems to be doing well on his treatment plan but it’s not perfect. Im hoping he still has a couple years to give us!🩷🩵💚
Love you to the moon and back my Pono boy!

Today makes 3 months without you. I can’t believe it’s been that long. I woke up this morning and the thought of never seeing you again hit me like a bag of bricks and took my breath away…I miss you!❤️‍🩹
I think I’ll miss you for the rest of my life!
The other day as I was sitting on the couch with Pono and Kaiteki I forgot for a second that you had left…and I reached to pet you, but it wasn’t you, you weren’t there. Those days are hard. The days when I forget that it was all real. I find more of those days where I reach out for you thinking you’re there, but you’re not. It’s hard.
I don’t know if I’ll ever understand or accept why this happened to you. 11 years wasn’t enough time. I know we had so many more summers ahead of us! I don’t understand why your cancer was so aggressive. I thought we had many more months together.
I’ll miss you forever! I’ll love you for always! I hope you’re feeling better! Please visit me soon!💚

2 months…tomorrow makes 2 months since you left!…although your absence has gotten a little easier to navigate I still struggle most days to understand. I learned to carry on with the day through my constant sadness. I learned to still smile even when I feel like crying. I miss you so much everyday still!
I know you are the biggest love of my life! And being without you will forever leave me feeling empty.
I’m so grateful to have had 11 years with you! Although that doesn’t seem to be long enough at all. Thank you for being my best friend! My baby! For loving me unconditionally! For showing me the true meaning of loyalty! I love you more than life itself!💚

Our couch crasher was scheduled for drop-off on May 10th…so naturally we made it official and adopted him on May 9th, 2026!🩵😆
We decided to keep a variation of his name since he already knew it and responded well to it! “Kaiteki-hoʻōla”, which means comfortable in Japanese and to heal/life in Hawaiian, seemed like the right new beginning for this new chapter.
So excited to be able to welcome new life into the family! And especially one with so many traits that our silly boy Maka also had! I know Maka’s guiding him🪽

I still can’t believe it’s been one whole month. Most days I still think I’ll see you…and then it makes me sad all over again to remember that you’ve left this earthly life entirely.
My sister reminded me that grief is funny that way. A simple misremembered thought “I’ll go stop by and see them” turns into a shattering reality.
I don’t know if I’ll ever understand why OUR time got cut short. I needed you so much! You were my best friend! And the one I could rely on for unconditional love and comfort! You were my entire support system! My rock! My compass! I miss you so much!
Love you for eternity and beyond!🩵
