Pittsburgh family,
Hockey season is just around the corner and I wanted to let everyone know that I won’t be back with the Penguins this year. When I think about the 3 years I had covering the team as both a rink-side reporter and host at the desk the number one word that comes to mind is grateful. Being able to travel with and cover an NHL team was always a dream of mine so to have had the opportunity to live out that dream for a whole 3 years is something that will always be very special to me. This is also such an incredible sports town and I loved getting to meet so many Penguins and Pirates fans.

While my love for the game of hockey runs deep, what I will miss the most about this role is actually not the job itself but the friendships I made. Everyone I worked with at SportsNet Pittsburgh and all of the employees at PPG Paints Arena were and always will be like family to me. Being on TV brings me so much joy but my favorite part about the job was actually getting to the rink an hour early before my work began so I could make my rounds of saying hello to all of the security workers and truck production folks who I ended up becoming very close with and will continue to be close with even though I won’t be at the rink every day anymore. That’s the cool thing about this industry. Even when you leave a job and move onto something else the friendships you made are always still there.

I look at all that’s happened during my time in Pittsburgh and I see God’s hands all over it. Sometimes walking with God and following his plan means not getting too comfortable in one place and being willing to continue to follow his plan for your life elsewhere because at the end of the day none of this is about me. As I begin married life and look forward to new opportunities, I know God continues to be in control. I’m excited to build even more friendships and spread the joy and love of Jesus with everyone I encounter. Love yinz a ton!💛
