𝟏𝟎,𝟎𝟎𝟎 𝐌𝐈𝐋𝐄𝐒! 🏁

Another milestone is in the books. With my latest ride, I’ve officially logged 10,000 miles on @strava! And while that doesn’t cover every mile I’ve ridden in life, it’s the number I’ve earned since keeping track and I’m pretty damn proud of it. That’s four cross country trips!

Every climb, flat tire, and finish line. All the times I pushed through exhaustion. The times I’d bundle up and ride in sub 30 degrees. The times I crashed and got back on the saddle. All the crew rides! Every mile told part of the story.

I’m proud of the work I’ve put in and thankful for the way cycling has grounded me. It’s been my outlet, my reset button, my therapy on two wheels. Can’t wait to keep spinning forward.

I f**king did it! A little over a week ago I knocked out my first official race taking part in the 20th anniversary of the Tour de Summerlin.⁣

Distance: 𝟒𝟎 𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐞𝐬⁣
Time: 𝟐:𝟑𝟕:𝟑𝟕⁣
⁣
I originally signed up for the 80mi ride in 2020 when I was mentally and physically ready to take on the distance. Unfortunately, thanks to Pistol Pete’s Panorama, the ride was delayed two years and I – despite training as much as I could these last few months – just wasn’t ready for the long haul.⁣
⁣
I’m still super proud of myself. I was a nervous wreck the night prior and really had no clue what to expect on race day. But once the countdown was done and we began pedaling, I was in the zone. The adrenaline kept my legs moving and anytime I got a little winded I would think of my Uncle Craig (RIP) and pushed through it. It felt great passing people on uphill climbs and I even led a pelaton group at one point. That is, until I made a wrong turn and went off course lol. That didn’t stop me from turning around and catching up with the group within a few miles, though! That competitive spark is real! Not to mention the support of my lovely wife and the PharRyde crew that kept me going.⁣
⁣
Overall, the experience was amazing. I learned some tricks from other veteran riders and how they attacked certain aspects of the ride and look forward to adding them to my bag for the next one! #pharryde
