A bloody good mountain boar for around here. I was out early taking measurements for a bit of construction on one of my @bnm_adventures085 hunting camps when I spotted this fella, tight quartering away shot at what I guessed to be around 30m and the Kayuga pilot cut had him down pretty much instantly! What a way to start ya morning!! Number 2 for the @boarsforacause

It may not have been a successful day in the elk woods but it sure beat the shit out of sitting on the couch. Like it or not, we are part of nature. Humans were meant to do these things and be good stewards of the wilderness. Respectful, ethical hunting keeps the wildlife healthy and also protects them through our observations and reporting. I’m not saying YOU specially should hunt, but understand it’s necessary. Also, no bears were harvested during or after this video. He was weee, but there is a bigger one in there. Now we return to another disappointing elk hunt. #keeppushingoffthex #veteran #stayinthefight #ethicalhunting #dothefuckingwork

“The Sunday morning miracle!” As we called it…
It was the very last day of the hunt. It had been very slow and as is the theme this year, it was full of torrential rains and slow Elk activity.
But we kept trusting in the Lord and maintained a positive attitude that He would provide no matter the circumstances.
On the final morning with a bit of clear weather, this bull came to our calls on a string in the wide open, and it was intense watching him approaching and bugling the whole time!
When his moment came, Maverick got it done and we celebrated and gave thanks for a miraculous ending to our hunt!
It was so great to share this experience with Maverick and his dad, Tyler. Definitely quality people who always kept a friendly, glass half full mentality and that made all the difference!
Thank you, Lord for the miracle and such great people to hunt with!

Only in Northern BC… you pull over for one moose and end up having a staring contest!
Ryan spotted this bull hanging out right beside the road, so naturally, he pulled over for a closer look. And this guy? He couldn’t have cared less. Just stood there like he owned the place, completely unfazed by Ryan’s presence.
Meanwhile, there was another bull tucked back in the bush that Ryan tried calling out. He gave it his best shot, but apparently, that bull wasn’t interested in joining the party.
Two bulls, one roadside encounter, and one unsuccessful calling session.
You just never know what you’re going to run into out here. Sometimes the wildlife puts on a show, and all you have to do is pull over and enjoy it.
Only in Northern BC!
