Today we recognize our fourth Black community hero:
Meet Sam! Sam is a junior mechanical engineering student. He has served on the executive board for the National Society of Black Engineers for two years now; first as Academic Excellence Chair when he was a sophomore, and now as one of two senators for the NJIT chapter of NSBE. He represents NJIT Athletics as he is on the NJIT Track & Field team. Additionally, beyond just his athleticism, he is a leader! He was motivated to begin the Coalition for Black Athletes, which he founded during the pandemic. This group has led to the creation of the Diversity & Inclusion Chair on the Student Advisory Committee which he now sits on. Sam is passionate about Black athletes being represented not only on but off their fields. Among his professional skills, he also holds many talents for the arts such as photography and music. We appreciate Sam’s hard work and dedication towards the community at NJIT as well as his outstanding representation of The Union of Black Students! Thank you, Sam.

This past weekend members of our dance team attended the NSBE Region 1 FRC and hosted a Afro-Zumba workshop! We were more than delighted to take this opportunity as the students were eager and quick to learn! Thank you NSBE for allowing us to teach the kids some zanku ‼️#weluvthekids @njit_nsbe @r1nsbe #r1frc #nsbeluv ☝🏾🔥
