This amazing young man graduates high school today and that feels impossible. Being Wyatt’s Godfather is one of the greatest honors of my life, and I could not be more proud of him. Watching him grow up from day one into the person he is now has been absolutely incredible. I have so many stories and memories of him that still make me smile, some going all the way back to his first few years of life. Wyatt is hilarious both when he’s trying to be and somehow even more when he isn’t. He is one of the most thoughtful people I have ever known and remarkably mature for his age. There are times I’m genuinely in awe of how insightful he is and how naturally he considers the feelings of others in everything he does. He has been through a lot, and he has handled it all with a level of grace that many adults never could. This is a testament to the love, guidance, and example set by his two exceptional parents.
I feel incredibly lucky to be even a small part of his life, and I can’t wait to see what he does next. I’ll be there cheering him on the whole way.

Champions! DFS McKim brought home the Silver Bracket title at this weekend’s Legendz Jamfest in Pittsburgh! After a 1-1 start and playing multiple games short-handed, the boys battled back under the leadership of CV’s own Matt Walsh, stepping up big as interim head coach. Clutch performances from Weston Fitzgerald and Dylan Walsh helped propel the squad to the top. After regaining a full team for the Championship game they brought home the hardware! Grit. Heart. This dude is 50 years old today! I have been friends with him for more than half of those with so many memories and great stories to tell. Simon is one of the most unique people I have ever known. His sense of humor is impeccable and he constantly makes me laugh even when his jokes are absolutely terrible. He is an incredible musician, insane cyclist, great cook…he is actually really good at too many things to list. We have done a lot together over the years and have had a lot of laughs and some crying too. We may not be blood related but we are brothers that’s for sure, his family is my family. I could go on for a while but I will wrap it up. I have taken probably thousands of photos of Simon since we met. Including when I was in their wedding and I was the photographer! Don’t get me started on that experience. It was hard to just pick a handful of photos for this post since I have so many. If you see Simon today and he stops talking for a second, please wish him a happy birthday and make fun of him for being so old. Better yet, call or text him or leave a birthday greeting here for him.

It’s a big birthday for my old (no pun intended) friend @elgarby . This dude right here has been alive for a HALF CENTURY! I am lucky to have been friends with him for 30 of those years. During that time I have taken a lot of photos of Brian. From him behind the kit absolutely destroying the drums in the most ridiculous way for so many great bands. To photos from soooo many memorable adventures and camping trips. To documenting him becoming an incredible father to Marlowe. This dude is like a brother to me and is one of the most supportive people I have ever met. So many amazing stories and laughs and I’m looking forward to another 50 years worth. If you know Brian give him a shout out and a good burn for being so old! Happy birthday buddy!

I’m not sure there is a bigger honor than having someone naming another human after you. This is Cannon Matthew Clark, he super rad and so is his name. My close friends Simon and Erin surprised me at the hospital the day he was born. I was totally speechless when they told me and to this day I am still amazed. I don’t have any kids but I put a lot of effort in being a good role model and a friend to all of my nieces, nephews and my friend’s children. I think being the “cool uncle” is better suited for me over being a parent, not sure I could pull that off as well. Cannon is an awesome kid and I love this portrait I made of him last week. If you were wondering about the name Cannon it was the last name of Erin’s grandparents and it makes an incredible first name if you ask me.

It was fun watching Cannon fly around the BMX track. I met this little dude in the hospital the day he was born and it’s crazy how fast he is growing up. Side note: in the hospital that day his parents surprised me in telling me they gave him the middle name Matthew after me and I was blown away. I am incredibly honored and I still to this day can’t even believe it. I think this kid is going to grow up to be as wild and funny as his dad @skunkape138. He is well on his way.
