POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Thought I had a life-changing Kobe… turns out I had a really good lesson instead. 😂🐻

I found this 1996 Fleer Metal Kobe Bryant in a lot and, at first, I thought it was the Precious Metal version.

So naturally… I sent it Super Express. 😅

In my head, I’m thinking:
PSA 9 = huge money.
PSA 10 = potentially life-changing.

Then I never got the giant upcharge email, and that was my first clue that I had definitely misidentified the card.

Grade reveal?

PSA 9.

Still a great result on a 30-year-old Kobe rookie-era card, and PSA’s estimate came back around $294–$374.

More importantly, this was a good reminder that grading is a learning process too.

Looking at it now, I can clearly see the difference between the regular Metal and the Precious Metal version, and I can also see the small lower-left corner issue that likely kept it from a 10.

Knowing what I know now, I probably approach this submission differently.

But that’s part of building this business.

Make the mistake.
Learn the card.
Learn the grading process.
Get better on the next one.

And a PSA 9 Kobe is still a pretty fun card to get back. 🔥

Cosmic Chrome before Cosmic Chrome. 🌌🔥

Tell me this card doesn’t look like it came out 20 years ahead of its time.

The 1998 SkyBox E-X2001 Randy Moss Star Date 2001 had everything: galaxy vibes, insane shine, futuristic design, and one of the most electric players of the era.

Before “cosmic” became a hobby buzzword, cards like this were already taking collectors to another planet.

And with Randy Moss on the front?
Perfect match.

Out of this world in 1998. Still out of this world today.

Be honest — is this one of the best-looking football inserts of the ’90s? 👀
