I love adventuring. As I am picking cotton today I am reflecting back. We spend almost every day of our lives on the farm, but going and doing is invaluable. These are pictures from this past February when Genna and I went to hunt auodad with the awesome crew of @outrideradventures and @skyfallreserve

I highly suggest adventuring with @fieldethos and bringing your best friend along for the ride. No one can take your memories. It’s also fun planning new ones.

I am hosting an epic men’s retreat at @skyfallreserve and there are only 2 spots still available for the Feb 26-28, 2027.

We started with one weekend with 9 spots and God provided more than we could imagine and had to add two more weekends!

We will have faith, firearms, fighting, and foolishness for the weekend!

The focus will be the Bible story of Gideon and how we as leaders in our house can learn from him and apply it.

Let me know if you are interested in learning more!

Freedom was bought by people who answered the call, stepped into danger, and never came home. This country was built, and preserved, by men and women willing to give everything for people they’d never meet.

So whether you’re around a table with family, in the field at sunrise, or simply enjoying the freedom to choose how you spend your day… remember why that freedom exists.

Take a moment to say a name. Learn a story. Honor the sacrifice.

SKYFALL RESERVE | TEXAS | JUNE 25 - JUNE 28

THE RUN DOWN
$4000 - 8 slots
(Includes Professional Instruction, Lodging, Meals, Range Access, and Training Infrastructure)

Camp Vertex at Skyfall Reserve is a purpose-built, multi-day training experience designed to sharpen both ends of the spectrum: precision rifle marksmanship and hands-on combatives. Hosted at a private Texas facility, this immersive event blends disciplined long-gun instruction with physical problem-solving, building capable shooters who can think, move, and perform under pressure.

This isn’t a square-range class or a vacation disguised as training. Camp Vertex is for participants who want to push technical shooting skills, understand positional and environmental problem solving, and build physical confidence through structured combatives, all while living, eating, and training together as a group.

WHAT’S INCLUDED

PROFESSIONAL INSTRUCTION
Expert-led instruction covering precision rifle fundamentals, positional shooting, and applied marksmanship, paired with combatives training focused on control, balance, movement, and physical problem-solving.

PRIVATE TRAINING FACILITY
Exclusive access to Skyfall Reserve, featuring dedicated rifle ranges and purpose-built combatives training areas.

LODGING & MEALS
On-site lodging and all meals are included for the duration of the event, allowing participants to stay focused on training without logistical distractions.

TRAINING RIFLES AVAILABLE
Q firearms will be available for use if needed, allowing participants to train even if they are unable to bring their own rifle.

RANGE ACCESS & TRAINING INFRASTRUCTURE
All range fees, targets, safety oversight, and training lanes are included.

Throwback to an epic aoudad hunt with @outrideradventures and @skyfallreserve in way out west Texas. I shot this aoudad at 532 yards with a @3ggunsllc built 7MM PRC.

Listen close to the dialogue. THE MORAL OF THE STORY is when @terry.houin gives you a wind call, go with it. I was guessing/calculating a .75 MOA wind call and when Terri told me 1.5 MOA I was hesitant at first. Needless to say, but Terri was spot on. Bullet hit exactly where I wanted it to.

Good times with even better people.
