Caviar limes from @skyfieldranch - I’d never heard of a caviar lime before but we were so intrigued when we saw these in a box on the sidewalk so we had to break them open and see what they were. Glad there was someone who was much more plant-knowledgeable than us that was able to tell us what these were called. They were very sour and had a super cool texture. I personally love lemons so I enjoyed having it plain but they also seem like they would be great added to dishes, such as tacos. 🌮 If you ever encounter a caviar lime, be sure to give it a try. 🍋‍🟩

“One of my childhood heroines is Alice Waters, and one of my big-girl / grown-up heroines is Mary Ta. @alicelouisewaters has taught me the wonder of cooking in connection with our earth, and @maryta_one has taught me about biophilia. 🌎As we marinate in the energy of International Women’s Day, I want to give each of these women their flowers for their incredible accomplishments in this lifetime. 💐Mary not only has an extraordinary LA life with @minottila , which just celebrated 20 years(!!), but she also has @skyfieldranch , where she’s raising her incredible son Maximus. When I first met Alice Waters at the screening of @oliver_english and @simon__english ‘s amazing film @feedingtomorrow in San Francisco last April, my heart swooned and it was love at first connection. A soul connection beyond lifetimes. We invited Alice to Santa Barbara this past summer to share in beautiful possibilities of @edibleschoolyard , something I have been passionate through personal experience since I was a little one, picking and snapping the beans before dinner.🫛It is an education for children to learn, essential for our souls and soils. 🌿 Mary Ta had us over to her gorgeous refuge and farm @skyfieldranch where Madame Walska’s famous quote resonates deeply “Not even the sky is the limit…” ⛅️🌻along with Jenny Kramer, writing a feature for Santa Barbara Magazine. Alice joined to soak in the sunflowers and sunshine, as we shared inspirational ideas of webbing regenerative fashion, agriculture, and the land, along with ideas for community gardens…It’s just such an incredible honor to be with such extraordinary women including my dream writer and co-writer, @jblaisekramer , and divine photographer, @heysaraprince 📸 Feeling the joy of honoring these powerhouse women in the collective energy of International Women’s Day. Thank you @santabarbaramag for capturing the art of the land alongside Jenny. We are so honored to be connected. Back to school.. back to the garden..learning more every day from my 3rd and 6th graders! Fe is in middle school and is officially taller than me.. I am so honored and excited that we are part of @rivieraridge community where kindness is deeply fostered and growth is every growing.. as are the fruits and vegetables in the garden .. My learnings are also growing @alicelouisewaters who was not only my hero as a child, but who has taught me some of my greatest lessons from our interactions and blooming friendship. Very grateful for these intimate memories and the joy of just being with you @richardscibird …magical summer memories still to post.. for now.. Happy September and all the learnings 🍎🍏🪄
