I don't see enough interesting paintings of famous country music singers. I wanna change that. So let's make some. George Jones is an otherworldly voice. But was a complicated man. I wanted to show that in this painting by distorting some of his features and using colors I think of when I hear his music.

I come from a long line of chicken lovers and rooster painters. I love the shape of a good bird. Here I have given a whack at the coq at night because I usually think of roosters doing their thing at the break of dawn. So what's this fellah up to under the cloak of darkness?

Too much.
But I did wanna share one lil gem-Ang & Santa came to my house for lunch one day, I shared the surprise that I finally recorded one of his favorites, “End Of The World” by Skeeter Davis. Shared a cig while I played it for them for the first time & we all cried together through the whole song haaa. I was so proud, that THEY were proud.
It definitely hits harder today💔
Ill cherish that core memory, just as much as we all cherish both him & Ang. Thankful to her & their family for sharing & caring for all of us lil misfit elves.
Santa was always real💔
