Behind the Scenes of the animation process for my newest short film, The Planet Among Rocks. Over the course of a year I’ve documented the process of storyboarding, illustration, and editing to create the final product that I can’t wait to share with the world. Look to the stars and be on the lookout for Planet Venus as it orbits towards a screen near you!!

The Planet Among Rocks is a live action / animated short film created, directed, and hand drawn by Sky Brantley. Releasing on all platforms February 6th, 2025.

as a self taught film maker — when first starting out; I could not find a way to get a film made — I was a black film maker trying to make Horror and thriller films in a world that had not yet looked to black film makers in this space .. the good thing is , I was too crazy too listen to them - I made my shit anyway!! Halloween always makes me smile !! I love the season and love the genre !! Thank you to everyone that helped us make 4 top 10 theatrical films on our own!! We love you !! And yeah — we still crazy as hell!! Here’s to the amazing world of horror !!!

today my first film Three Wrongs and Mrs Right premiered.

honestly at a loss for words. two years of my life and a love of filmmaking having led me here. i wrote this script at one of the lowest points of my life and to see the way it’s blossomed is truly incredible.

thank you to the @urbanfilmfestivals for showing my film and for welcoming me to Miami. to my producing partner @skysstudio_ you pushed me as an artist and as a friend, thank you for believing in this project from the beginning. we’ve created an empire together, let’s keep going.

to my amazing cast and crew, thank you so much for believing and sticking with me through this. im forever thankful to you all for seeing this through with me.

to everyone who’s supported and watched the journey this far, from the bottom of my heart thank you, know you’re supporting a dream I’ve had since i was 8 years old.

and i still have so much to give.

step by step, brick by brick.
