Wrapped Vivien & The Florist last week 🌹

A story close to my heart, written by my nearest and dearest @jaycebartok. Grateful to be a part of this visionary team alongside Jayce, Nick, Lauren, Tiffany, and Shawn. We carried it through the Philadelphia winter and the wild ride of indie filmmaking on belief in the story, and the unmatched hard work and brilliance of our cast and crew. I love this film, the people and Philly so very very much.

Now onto post-production. Excited is an understatement. More news and BTS to come✨

What a great ride with my latest sitcom fam. Last day of filming and wrap party on Crutch, a new CBS sitcom, coming to Paramount+. Be sure to watch!

My gratitude to the amazing and supportive AD team, Mike Walker, Lem Fishburne and April Smith, Production crew, Ray James, Bianca Fernandez and directors, Oz Scott, Kim Fields, Rob Countryman, Beth McCarthy & John Fortenberry, the incredible and giving cast members, especially Tracy Morgan, Adrianna Mitchell, my friend Adrian Martinez, Kecia Lewis, and new and long-time friends, especially Karen Wald @karen_wald, connecting and reconnecting here, on this set, this stage.

We quickly became a family, thanks in huge part to the star of the show & Executive Producer, Tracy Morgan. He talked about being a family almost every day on set and treated everyone as such. And it felt like that.

It was great to be on set with him again, after working years together on 30 Rock.

It’s been one year since the release of Chang Can Dunk. As I reflect on how much this movie has changed my life, I can’t help but feel immense gratitude. For the experiences, good and bad, for the growth I felt as a person and an artist but most of all for the people that came into my life and gave everything for this movie and each other.

On the 2nd day of the shoot, we had to change our schedule and shoot a scene I wasn’t prepared for. Weeks of planning down the drain. But as I looked through the monitor and saw Deandre coaching Chang for the first time, I came to realize why I was making this movie. As a shy, only child of busy immigrant parents, I spent a lot of time alone. I figured how to make that work for me and I learned to shoulder my own burdens, a powerful skill that would take me far, but in that moment, on that outdoor court in Stamford, I realized how much I had craved as a kid for someone to show me the ropes, to give me the time of day. As much as this film is about perseverance and chasing dreams I believe it’s really about being open, asking for help and building bonds that can hold you, lift you for life.

So to all the Deandres, Bos, Kristys, Chens and Matts in my life, thank you!!! Happy Changversary 🏀
