| 𝗞𝗲𝗲𝗽 𝗚𝗼𝗶𝗻𝗴 | Someone once told me, “𝙆𝙚𝙚𝙥 𝙂𝙤𝙞𝙣𝙜”. That was it. At the time, I thought it was simple advice. Now I realize it’s much more.
• When I got my staph infection, life didn’t stop, it did the opposite. It gave me something to work toward, something to focus on. A reminder that even in the middle of hardship, life keeps moving. • 𝗪𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝘀𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗵𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗲𝗻𝘀, 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘂𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗮 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗻, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗻𝗲𝘅𝘁 𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗽. 𝗧𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗸𝗲𝗲𝗽 𝗴𝗼𝗶𝗻𝗴. • You never know what’s waiting around the corner. 𝗪𝗲 𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗴𝗼𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗴𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗕𝗿𝗮𝘇𝗶𝗹 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗮𝗳𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗜 𝗰𝗮𝗺𝗲 𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗺𝘆 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗴𝗲𝗿𝘆. Had I focused only on what was going wrong, I might have missed what was going right. • 𝗙𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝘀𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻 𝘄𝗲𝗲𝗸𝘀, 𝗜’𝘃𝗲 𝗵𝗮𝗱 𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗯𝗶𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗰𝘀 𝗽𝘂𝗺𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗼 𝗺𝗲 𝟮𝟰/𝟳 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝗮 𝗣𝗜𝗖𝗖 𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗴𝗼𝗲𝘀 𝗱𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗹𝘆 𝘁𝗼 𝗺𝘆 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘁, along with a dressing that had to be changed every week. During that time, I still traveled to Brazil and Virginia. Traveling with the medical supplies and not being able to lift over 10 pounds wasn’t easy. But we found a way. I leaned on my friends, and they showed up for me. • 𝗟𝗼𝗼𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗯𝗮𝗰𝗸, 𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝗶𝗴𝗴𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝘄𝗮𝘀𝗻’𝘁 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗸𝗲𝗲𝗽 𝗴𝗼𝗶𝗻𝗴, 𝗶𝘁 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘇𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗸𝗲𝗲𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗴𝗼𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗱𝗼𝗲𝘀𝗻’𝘁 𝗮𝗹𝘄𝗮𝘆𝘀 𝗺𝗲𝗮𝗻 𝗱𝗼𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝘁 𝗮𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗲. Sometimes it means asking for help and letting the people around you carry some of the weight. I’m incredibly grateful for everyone who showed up for me. Thank you!❤️ • That’s one of the biggest reasons I share my journey. 𝗡𝗼𝘁 𝗯𝗲𝗰𝗮𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝗜 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗶𝘁 𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗳𝗶𝗴𝘂𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗼𝘂𝘁, I Definitely don’t. I’ve made Plenty of Mistakes. But if my experiences can maybe help someone shift their perspective or push through a difficult situation, it’s worth sharing • So whatever you’re facing, keep going. • You never know what’s waiting on the other side.

| 𝗦𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗸𝗟𝗶𝗳𝗲 | The beauty of the slackline community is the ability to connect with people you may have never met, from all corners of the world, through a shared interest, a one inch wide piece of webbing Ahaha

This past week at @jackalopefest - Virginia Beach, when we kicked off our tour, it didn’t even feel like we were at a competition Lol. It felt more like a group of friends on a weekend beach getaway🏝️ • Despite coming from different parts of the world and having a competition hanging overhead, there wasn’t an overbearing sense of pressure or stress among the group, something that can definitely be present at comps. • 𝗧𝗵𝗮𝘁’𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝗮𝘂𝘁𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗦𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗸𝗟𝗶𝗳𝗲!❤️

@urbanhighlinefestcol
