Better Late Than Never, the studio album that in many ways started it all for NYC ska/reggae legends @theslacketsband, is celebrating its milestone 30th Anniversary in 2026. To celebrate, the band & @piratespressrecords have put this classic album back in print…to stay this time!

The 30th Anniversary Edition of Better Late Than Never, is OUT NOW on all major streaming platforms, and everywhere fine ska & reggae vinyl is sold!

Better Late Than Never was truly the birth of The Slackers’ signature sound, as fans worldwide recognize it today.

Tracks like the sleazy, smoky blues croon of “Sarah” & the driving, masterful “Sooner or Later” remain fan-favorites & fixtures of live sets to this very day. The tracks were laid for the band’s trajectory during these fruitful sessions at Coyote Studios with production by the band’s longtime collaborator @victorricey. And, as if to bless the proceedings, the incomparable Doreen Shaffer, founding member of genre originators The Skatalites, lends guest vocals to the riddim-driven lovers’ rock of “Our Day Will Come.”

Originally released by New York institution Moon Ska Records, this record has been in & out of print far too many times over the years.

On the auspicious occasion of its 30th anniversary, The Slackers & PPR have assembled a truly definitive version of Better Late Than Never for posterity, restoring the original album artwork & all 16 songs that have appeared on any tracklisting of the album, across a double LP available in two gorgeous Marble Vinyl variants: 2x12” Flume Marble Vinyl & 2x12” Sakura Marble Vinyl, available now from the PPR webstore and at your favorite local record shop!

Fans in Europe can pre-order both variants from @coretexrecords, while those in the UK can order from @plasticheadmegastore!

Hey all! Just a quick update from ME world: I’ll be doing a quick hit and run Clash gig with Vinny and Jay for our friend Matt Burdi’s bday on October 28th at the Cobra Club in Brooklyn. I’ll be doing some handclaps and gang vocals for the new Leftover Crack record on Monday. I’ll be hitting the road with the Slackers from 11/10 to 11/23, touching all points Midwest, Chicago and Texas. In the meantime, working on a new novel while I wait for the advanced reading copies of Mister Tragedy to arrive. Writing has been a great way to heal following the death of my friend Tim Receveur. You just hope to sit down every morning and do justice to the things and people you love. I loved Tim….So that’s where I’m at. I hope to have this new book finished by the end of the year, Mister Tragedy will be out in May and you can preorder from all the usual suspects. I look forward to seeing you on the road in November!❤️—-A
