CHAPEL CHATS S8 E4 // Cooler weather has finally come to campus - so we’re asking students what are their fall hot takes? Is pumpkin spice overrated and does candy corn need more love?

We got to love on our 20 year old for a little bit. Plans may have changed but God was still in control and had us all where we needed to be yesterday.

Please pray for Slaton’s girlfriend and her family as they navigate the sudden loss of her Aunt Dana yesterday. We love you Alivia. 💔

Slaton,

Twenty years ago (I’m still processing 20 ~ 2-0 🥺) at 10:59 pm, you changed my life forever! I’ll never forget them handing me my 7lb 1oz, 19 3/4 perfect redheaded son. I had such an adrenaline rush that I stayed up with Aunt Kelsey all night just watching you.

Being a mom to you is one of my best blessings. You inherited my big loud personality and you own in. Your heart is one of the biggest I know and that’s because you love Jesus with all your heart first. You show love and grace when people may not deserve it because you get the ultimate mission of what Jesus wants from us.

This year watching you as a KHSAA official has been pretty cool. We loved watching you play but seeing your love develop for this at the next level has been fun. You are living your best life at CU and we couldn’t be more proud of you. I hope your day is filled your favorite songs, your favorite food, your favorite people and all the things you love.

Keep being Jesus Kid! Whether you are on the court or teaching VBS, you are changing the world and I love you a big ole bunch. ❤️

I’ve already cried about 20 years going by in a blink but I’m gonna be ok! I cannot wait for all our adventures this year! Love you!

Safe to say both our boys look like us 💁🏼‍♀️ I had to throw in a college photo of Justin with hair to get a different view as well 😂

9 years between these two pictures. Funny how some things change… and some things never do. 🏈 proud of you always Slate. ❤️

Slaton’s first day of college was yesterday!

I made a quick trip up to drop off books and some left behind items. Had lunch with Slaton and Alivia. Then I hung out with Alivia while Slaton was in class. I ended up seeing McKenna driving through, happened to see Caleb at the same time, saw Audrey, who was 12 when we left Stanford and even got to be the first one to throw Slaton in the dunk booth! 😂

Year 2 and technically his junior year at CU. I’ve loved having him at home this summer, but I know he’s exactly where he needs to be.

Go BE Jesus kid! We love you! #cutigers
