Palm Beach, you always get me.🌴🌺 @hibiscus.house started with a love of old things, happy color, a whole lot of treasure hunting and the belief that your home should tell a story. Coming back this week for @thesouthernc felt a little like returning to the beginning- but seeing it all through very different eyes!

We were SO proud to sponsor the Swag Market and share our custom lacquered picture frames with all the ladies, but the real treat was being surrounded by women building things they genuinely believe in. Businesses, babies, big ideas, never ending to-do lists, incredible taste- and glamourous tales still being written.

Somewhere between conversations about motherhood and marketing, AI and scaling business, interior design and curating style, fabulous outfits, pretty tablescapes, old friends and new ones... I had one of those moments where I could see the voyage a little more clearly.

Hibiscus House isn’t really just about vintage furniture (maybe it never was🤔) It’s about collecting what you LOVE, choosing the unexpected, mixing old with new, making home feel HAPPY, trusting your eye and starting before you have it alllll figured out.

And now my three-year-old asks to see “mommy’s rainbow furniture” which makes me LOL because in three words she may understand the whole thing better than I ever will. And that’s what felt so special about this week: so much individuality, with the same spirit running through it all- women trusting their taste, their ideas and themselves enough to create something of their own.

That’s the magic @cherileavy and @whitneywiselong have built with The Southern C. You can Google every buzzword: female founders, networking, branding, entrepreneurship etc etc but community like THIS isn’t created by an algorithm.

Cheers to more color, stories, beautiful antiques with another life left in them, women doing cool SHIZ, trusting your gut and MORE remembering that the journey is actually the glossy part.✨

Palm Beach and @thecolonypalmbeach thank you for taking us back to our roots and reminding us how much is still blooming.

When we were 21 and just arrived in New York, Dora, my best friend and roommate, was going to film school at NYU and bartending at Cedar Tavern in the East Village to pay for her studies. Her punk hair slicked back with Dippity Do, tough girl makeup, and black body suits she always wore under stark black knee-length skirts could not hide her sensual, irrepressible beauty.
