Our city.
Our stories.
Our magazine.

Here she is. The new issue of The Swansea Edit.

You might notice we look a little different this month. We’ve gone gold for Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, standing alongside Joseph’s Smile and helping to raise awareness of a cause that matters enormously to families here in Swansea and far beyond.

Inside, it’s Swansea from cover to cover. We’re talking Swans and the players who made us Jacks, visiting The Egypt Centre, meeting one of the city’s rising bands, Blue Moon, talking books, local charities, wildlife, wellbeing and plenty more besides.

There are familiar voices, new stories and, as always, the people and places that make Swansea what it is.

Seven issues in, I still get a ridiculous little thrill seeing the finished magazine in my hands. This one feels particularly special.

Free copies will be making their way across SA1–SA7 over the coming days, into our libraries, local businesses, cafés, car showrooms and all the places you’re used to finding us.

Pick one up. Have a read. Pass it on.

This is Swansea, in print.

Less than 10 seconds through the latest Swansea Edit. There’s slightly more inside.

Gemma is bringing us more fitness to try at home, Meg is savouring her evening at Ula, and we welcome Chris from Grandad’s, who talks steak. Oliver looks at what this unusually dry summer has meant for our local wildlife, and The Chazza Queen continues her thrifting adventures in another local charity shop.

Leon is back in the kitchen, Reem shares more from the world of pharmacy, whilst Polly brings a moment of mindfulness. Isabella talks all things aligned marketing,, She Thrives share another perspective from women in business. Beth at Cariad Mortgages brings her latest from the property and mortgage world, and Bobbi Rae is back with more insight into understanding our dogs and their behaviour.

Then there are the stories that are ours to tell: Swansea, Seen, Home Town Tourist, Made in Swansea, Charity Corner, books, art, community and plenty of Swansea in between.

So yes, this little flick through is fast. Making the magazine certainly wasn’t.

Another issue, another very proud moment.

Independent.
Family-run.
Written, edited and published in Swansea.

From Hollywood to the Lliw, via a Basque steak.

It sounds like an ambitious travel itinerary, but it is actually just a small taste of what you will find inside the August issue of The Swansea Edit.

We celebrate Catherine Zeta-Jones, explore Lliw Reservoir through fresh eyes and learn how to cook the perfect steak with Chris from Grandad Needs His Medicine.

There is also art at the Glynn Vivian, wildlife with Oliver, a visit to Swansea Community Farm, Tracy Rees’s latest novel and a return to the Wales v Europe match, where football helped keep the important message that Kids Get Cancer Too firmly in the public consciousness.

Behind it all are voices from across our city: Gemma, Reem, Polly, Meg, Leon, Isabella, Beth, Bobbi Rae, Chris, Oliver, Hels and Crystal, The Chazza Queen and, finally, me.

The Swansea Edit is written, edited and published independently by our family here in Swansea. No parent company, no national media group and no outside voice deciding which stories deserve space.

Just a real, tangible magazine filled with Swansea’s people, places and stories.

Pick up your free copy across SA1 to SA7 in libraries, hotels, eateries, Airbnbs, luxury car showrooms, and independent businesses, as well as selected homes across our city and county.

You can also read the issue online at theswanseaedit.com.

Have you found yours yet?
