Let us introduce you to the first of our exhilarating ensembles!

Raul Policarpio has been tickling ivories and delighting audiences for nearly 20 years as a professional pianist!
Performing overseas from 2005 until 2014, Raul is a well accomplished, well travelled jazz musician with a light touch and an unrivalled ear.
As an in-house pianist for Adelaide’s Mayfair Hotel & RACV Melbourne and an instrumental teacher at The Geelong College.

Ryan Hickey’s style centres around big, grandiose grooves, yet he has the skillset to assimilate whatever rhythm the music requires whenever he graces a drum kit!
His influences range from the eclectic Alice Coltrane, to artists such as Trapped Under Ice and the classic boom bap stylings of Gang Starr. After getting into the drums thanks to his metalhead older cousins, Hickey has since played with a multitude of musicians down here in Geelong.

Ben Ackerley is a seasoned busker who has travelled widely to deepen his knowledge of diverse music, including Spanish Flamenco and Brazilian Bossa Nova. He has performed with a jazz trio in Sydney, serenaded streets in Spain and rocked plazas in Portugal!

Patrick Bongiorno is an avid trumpet player and improviser, who has been studying music ever since he started high school. Starting with brass, he went on to join the choir at school and got involved in a number of musicals. After this, he studied music industry at Oxygen College and took up learning the piano - earning him the coveted title of ‘multi-instrumentalist’.

The enigmatic Daniel Aaron will also be giving us an intimate, unplugged performance for the Jam Royale. Bringing his performative exuberance to Captain’s stage, we’re lucky enough to be getting not one, but two shows from this unique artist!

Michael Tinta is a well known, well educated and vastly talented saxophonist/vocalist from Geelong! After travelling to Germany, New York then back to Germany to study music, he has crafted a unique funk/jazz/blues style of playing. Tinta has played in various bands such as Captain Groove, DMT Trio, Grand Soul Audio, Mr Meaner & more!
