Transcendent Tuesday!

A closing reception for our epic group show, go grab a taco from Zia across the street, Frida’s down the street, La Hacienda, or Taco Bell if that’s all you can afford (no judgement here). Then come have deep conversations about compelling work from local creators. Dare to dip your toes into the most unique art gallery in Durango!!

See you next Tuesday 🤘🤙🌮🎨

Now Hanging: Jordanne Pelkey @slimeyslimehole

Jordanne is an incredibly talented local artist, we had the pleasure of coming across her work at the old @thehivedgo and you can see a new mural from her at their new location. She was also one of 9 artists featured in the Santa Rita “Droplets” mural. Her work features poppy colors that dance through spectrums, and intriguing graphic and subjective elements. Come through to watch our RGB lights animate her work and claim a piece for yourself!

Check out Durango's second-largest mural! 🎨 Created by nine talented artists, it spans the southwest wall of the water treatment building. It's bold, beautiful, and a true celebration of art and community. 💙

MS is an invisible illness...
When I was first diagnosed, I struggled with basic physical motion, including walking. My eyesight was affected, my muscles wouldn’t respond the way I was accustomed to, and headstands and forearm stands—once easy—were suddenly unattainable. Everything felt unsteady, physically and mentally, and I relied on my close friends, my partner, and a precious few who supported me through that dark time (you know who you are).

I’ve never shared these videos from right before my diagnosis because they’re messy. They aren’t perfect. They show frustration, instability, setbacks, and countless attempts at things that once came easily. But if these last three years have taught me anything, it’s that the messy parts matter too. They show the reality of learning, healing, and rebuilding—not the polished version.

An invisible illness reveals things. It shows what you’re capable of enduring, what truly matters, and who trusts your experience without needing proof. The hardest parts of MS weren’t just symptoms—they were navigating a reality others couldn’t always see or understand.

Once I started treatment, I poured countless hours into recovery. Everything was harder. Weights felt heavier, my body took longer to recover, and progress wasn’t linear. Many challenges weren’t visible to anyone else.

Over the last three years, I’ve learned my body’s capabilities and continued to rebuild strength. With the support of my close friends and my partner @cotehone I’ve worked through many mental challenges too. But MS is still there. I live with chronic pain. My body doesn’t always respond the way I want when symptoms flare. I can do what I love, but it takes more effort, more rest, and a different approach than before.

MS affects the central nervous system, the network sending messages between brain and body. What looks simple can require far more mental and physical effort than people realize. Learning new skills often takes longer because my brain is navigating MS while also forming new neural pathways.
