𝑰𝒕'𝒔 𝒑𝒂𝒓𝒕𝒚 𝒕𝒊𝒎𝒆 -- S͟a͟t͟u͟r͟d͟a͟y͟ ͟N͟i͟g͟h͟t at our fourth birthday kicks off with a DJ-focused section of selectors of bass and global club sounds. Expect jersey, dubstep, rap, baile & more.

𝐊𝐞𝐫𝐟𝐞𝐰's parties at the venue have been nothing but momentous and instrumental -- three of the big brains behind the South Asian collective (𝒌𝒂̄𝒎𝒏𝒂, 𝑷𝒓𝒊𝒎𝒂𝒓𝒚 𝑻𝒉𝒖𝒈 & 𝑫𝑼𝑪𝑯𝑬𝑺𝑺 [𝒇𝒌𝒂 𝑯𝒂𝒍𝒐]) step up for their first b2b2b as 𝑲𝒆𝒓𝒇𝒆𝒘 𝑪𝒐𝒖𝒔𝒊𝒏𝒔, setting it off with fun music full of low-end pressure.

Aotearoa's finest export 𝑨𝑻𝑨𝑹𝑨𝑵𝑮𝑰 brought his party 𝐍𝐘𝐌𝐏𝐇𝐎 to Miscellania with a bang, and has quickly established himself in the scene - always on the dancefloor, always big upping his peers in the comments, always spinning fun curveballs and big blends on the decks. DJ set from the emerging prince.

Eora goodness with the extremely classy and graceful 𝑺𝑶𝑽𝑩𝑳𝑲𝑷𝑺𝑺𝒀 𝒃2𝒃 𝑹𝒚𝒅𝒆𝒆𝒏, whose joint track 𝐽𝑜𝑏𝑠𝑒𝑒𝑘𝑒𝑟 sound trained our b'day video. They played a perfect mid-afternoon set at 𝗔𝗯𝘀𝗼𝗿𝗯(𝗲𝗱) in March, let's see what kind of damage they can do at peak time 🔥

Closing is one of our favourite breakout DJs of the last few years - Brazilian Funk specialist 𝑴𝑨𝒁, who blew some international headliners out of the water the last time she played at Misc. Incredible swagger and insane mixing chops.

For each Miscellania anniversary, we spend months slowly arranging the names dear to our hearts that have played a role in shaping the venue. We always try and avoid repeating the same names in any birthday hoon, and we're proud to present a lineup of 99% acts playing their first Misc birthday.

The result is 30hrs of DJs, live acts, and performance over Saturday and Sunday - there's something for everyone.

We can't wait to celebrate with you 💋

✶⋆.˚ᴅᴊ ʙᴀx ᴏɴ ꜰʟɪᴘꜱɪᴅᴇ ִֶָ𓂃 ࣪˖ ִֶָ🐇

last week we were blessed with the presence of donk aficionado and the king of silly dubs — @djb4x ⭐️

hailing from dunedin, robbie aka dj bax is well known for his mental mashups, edits and donk-ifying tf out of songs ‼️ and if you haven't heard of him before then best believe you've heard his tracks in the club 💃🏾

from high school musical, nelly, sexxy redd to peppa pig and spongebob. theres no guessing what songs he'll edit next in the name of donk 😤🙏🏾

his work has been released through @beltersmag @redlinerecs @thebigfreshcollective and his edits such as Gucci Flip Flops, Super Freak, his Baddadan edits to Dancing in the Moonlight — just to name a few — have gone insanely viral.

not to mention, last weekend his track FREAK debuted at @boilerroomtv — like this guy is only getting bigger and bigger as the days go by 🌟

massive shoutout to @djb4x for coming thru to FLIPSIDE and just hanging out with us. we were truly gassed to have this superstar in the studio for a lil yap session and a guest mix — it got a little chaotic especially with the little mukbang we did but we move hahahh 🙂‍↕️🧡

if you'd like to listen back to his episode then definitely, click on the link in our bio ‼️💗

🎉 FBi Turns 20: Block Party 🎉

On a piping hot December day in Sydney, we teamed up with the @fbiradio crew to cap off 20 long years of their support and facilitation of all things music, art & culture in the Emerald City.

The sold out block party was held across 3 venues — the iconic Marrickville Bowlo, The Red Rattler and the Up outdoor main stage on Faversham street, blocked off for maximum good times 😎

Despite the 40+ degree sun belting down, 1600 punters strong rolled in and were treated to 30+ of the best up and coming local artists, bands & DJs 🥁🎨

An all-out celebration of FBi Radio, Sydney's rich culture and a chance to raise some funds to help FBi keep on keepin' on for years to come 💪

For the full wrap up and snaps from the day, head to the 🔗 in our bio.

Celebrating 20 incredible years with Fbi 94.5's festival! 🎉

Last weekend, the crew outdid themselves, from planning to delivering full production for the FBI's 20th birthday block party. A massive open-air stage set the scene, with extra stages at the iconic Red Rattler and Marrickville Bowlo adding to the vibe.

The event was lit! Literally, with full lighting that set the mood. The stage boasted an impressive truss structure and cover, ensuring every performance was showcased in style. And the sound? Crystal clear, thanks to the NEXO/EAW sound system.

Mixing it up, we had over 40 bands and artists who brought their A-game, energized by our top-notch sound and lighting services. Here's to 20 years of the FBI 🎶🎤 #FBI20Years #BuzzProduction #BlockPartyMagic #LiveMusicExtravaganza

Announcing Slim Set + friends for FBi Turns 20 🫨

Yeah, you heard us – Western Sydney’s golden boys will make their long-awaited return at FBi Turns 20 ❤️‍🔥 It’s been a minute, but the producer-rapper duo continue to hold it down with their unique hybrid sound of mutant grime, club culture and hyper-aware millennial references. In 2018, Slim Set had both the #1 AND #2 most played songs on FBi that year, and scored 3 FBi SMAC Award nominations. They’ve played sold-out shows in Sydney and Melbourne and supported the likes of The Streets, Flohio and AJ Tracey. And who could forget spending every Wed night with their A+ tunes and ridiculous banter on Sunset with Slim Set 🌆

On Sat December 9 catch unstoppable MC (and unofficial mayor of Parramatta) Uncle @kalanjay throwing down bars over @djatro ’s ridiculously skilled productions – self-deprecating, rowdy lyrics packed with fast disses and subtle references, burned into a 140 BPM maelstrom of 808s, sirens, and synths. Real ones remember when they gave it all at Manning House for FBi Turns 15 (nothing was left on the stage or the dancefloor after that set 😵‍💫). This time is sure to be just as explosive, especially given they're bringing a couple mates along for the ride too 🧨

We are beyond delighted to welcome back @slimsetta into the fold for FBi Turns 20 😊

Early bird tickets to our fundraiser are almost sold out !! Consider this your last chance to cop for $35 + BF. Also, watch this space – the full lineup drops tomorrow 👀 #FBiTurns20

My radio show for this month is a love letter to a radio station, a city and a music community I was lucky enough to be part of for an all too brief time in my life. Here’s a radio show about a radio station (and much more…) welcome to @radioskidrow ✊

Listen link in my bio.

Cutting through the static on stolen land, RSR has been a pioneering community a for-us-by-us radical platform for under-amplified area voices since it began in 1983 with test broadcasts on a landline telephone to Long Bay Jail.

On my show this month three generations of amazing women tell the story of the indigenous community members, communists, unionists, migrant workers committees, squatters, prisoners who built it, and how they’ve survived shutdowns, lock-outs and funding cuts, and how you can support the fight for media justice into the future. It’s a dramatic, social hilarious and moving story, that is unique but will also feel familiar to anyone who has ever tried to build a counterinstitution using only sweat rage and will, all the magic and heartbreak that goes with it. I really hope you’ll check it out, and if you feel inspired, donate to their fundraiser which has only five days left to meet its target (or receive no funds!) only solidarity keeps these histories living.

Every song you’ll hear (except one) is underground music made in Sydney, by friends and their sonic ancestors, and mad old weird stuff I got onto while working at @repressedrecords . Somehow over half of the tunes I picked came out in the first half of 2017, which says a lot about the insane talent-crucible of this strange deranged dark beautiful city, and the unique role australian community radio plays in that, through of its mandate to platform local artists. There is no cooler feeling than turning on your car radio and hearing your own song!

Thank you to everyone who I spoke to for this show. The interview with Skid Row’s Blak Friday host Aliyah-Jade Bradbury was generously provided by @race_matters of FBi Radio - which is coincidentally where i walked into studio and first met people I would travel play and tour with in BB and the Blips! We owe it all to radio ⭐️
