- last minute coat-retrospective showing a dummy / mockup of “Edition Summercoat, 2019” at “Hudson Runway II” Custom Jackets by…. 579 Hudson St. West Village - NY May 3, 2-6pm @allupinit_123 @back_up_its_jen_vortex @du.spati.review “(…) Works like the ‘Summercoat’, the ‘Inversely Sweater’, and ‘Tacheles Shades’ invoke the playful performativity, and the casual interface with technology, found in Nam June Paik’s collaborations with Charlotte Moorman. Technology in this sense is found to be an extension of the body, but the connection is anything but seamless: instead, each object moulds you to its own contours and its own anti-logic. More complex mechanisms like the ‘Anti-Perpetuum Mobile’, meanwhile, ascend into the rarefied realms of pure fancy - like the exquisitely pointless inventions that populate Raymond Roussel’s Locus Solus. Introducing ELLIOT WAUGH who’ll be joining us for the Listening Space at INSEQUENCE on Saturday 8th November. ELLIOT WAUGH is a Blue Mountains-raised writer and record collector. He lives in Lawson. With a background in art history, in 2020 Elliot embarked on a writing project to interrogate and understand his other enduring love: music. Writing about thousands of records in his collection via his @slippery.el instagram account has led to a new appreciation for music across a broad spectrum - from contemporary classical to Ghanaian highlife, Gregorian chant to dub techno. - This event is supported by Blue Mountains City Council and the Blue Mountains City of the Arts Trust Grants Program, and made possible through the generous support of Heaps Normal and Mountain Culture Beer Co.

UP NEXT at ONF Yuan Liu @gelagatto N.N Opening Friday 17th October 6-8pm Our road is littered with aesthetic markers – tiny events signifying transitions, or blocks, or little narrative charges – that make straying a delicious proposition. It might be a detour from the straight and proper path laid down, but the formal depths within each little cul-de-sac represent a world in itself. To gaze into the depths, to catalogue and memorialise each little aesthetic outlier like a well-attuned magpie, is a noble pursuit. After all, if we don’t do it for ourselves, who will? Archiving and cataloguing, filling a brimming wunderkammer with piquant remembrances: this is the focus of Yuan Liu’s work. But a collection and an archive are not the same thing. In between there lies a gulf, separating the personal from the institution. Liu’s work takes a leaf from her father, whose collections of stamps, banknotes, books and cigarette packs often bore special significance, emblazoned with Chinese landmarks and literary references. But she also sought a way to stem the tidal wave of emotion that often arrives with a collection of a personal nature. A collection is legitimised when it becomes an archive. Miniature padded boxes line drawers, littered with passport photos and communist lapel pins. File cards with exhaustive, dispassionate descriptions of objects are adorned with exquisite watercolour renderings. It’s an archive in the vein of Aby Warburg’s mammoth Mnemosyne Atlas - deeply personal and impartial at the same time, treading a line so fine it’s disintegrating beneath our feet. _incroyable How to describe this? The hype sticker states: "A high-fidelity sonic trip into the world of (the band) France, high, live and dirty with some seriously savage electric hurdy-gurdy". _mesmerizing One of the thrills of music is to make time stand still. This album is able to do so. Stunning soundtrack to Peter Fonda's 1971 movie 'The Hired Hand'. As the hype sticker mentiones this would be the result of a collaboration between John Fahey and Boards of Canada. Langhorne was a well known session musician who also played on several tracks of Dylans 'Bringing it all Back Home'. The label states this is a 45 rpm press but I do prefer it on 33 rpm. Think that's the correct speed otherwise this sounds like Ry Cooder on amphetamine. Which isn't bad either. ▪️▪️▪️ 'Score for Peter Fonda' s The Hired Hand' by Bruce Langhorne - 2005/2023 US repress on Scissor Tail _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ 25.03.2025 #thehiredhand #scoreforpeterfondasthehiredhand #brucelanghorne #peterfonda #scissortailreccords #simpelefons202503

Release-day! DR060 Bobby Would - Relics Of Our Life (LP) Out now @digitalregress Oakland, CA LP digitally available on Bandcamp, to order physical copy click #linkinbio Live May 18, 2024 @selva_nyc | Brooklyn-NYC June 13, 2024 @8mmbar | Berlin Thanks again @k.c.gill @cindytheband for the write-up #linkinbio - adding words by Blue Mountains (AUS) record fiend & much more @slippery.el „Robert Pawliczek reprises his role as Bobby Would, a tongue-in-cheek pop songwriter/stick figure beset by walls of sculpted studio snow. From the very first song, the sonic scree is tempered with a kind of stumping artlessness. Out of the inhospitable yellow buzz a gentle groove coalesces - somnorific, jerky, halting. Is this the right place? That familiar voice reenters on the second track, stiff and nasal but with a glint in its eye. It’s like an empty sarcophagus echoing with residual laughter. There’s a slight upward tilt to the road, a hint of redemption - how could I ever tell you? Would is heir to the kind of muted, sun-starved pop of artists like Robert Rental, only through the prism of aphasia. At the culmination of the LP, a detourned casiotone cover of ‘Red Red Wine’ bleeds through, and it feels like a benediction. These songs unfold like a slow thaw, permafrost blessed by twinkling guitar. Halls of echo are visited by the afterimage of a jaunty melody, hope that isn’t easily extinguished. Bobby Would is burrowing his way up to the surface.“ LP written, recorded, artwork @r_pawliczek ( Entirely recorded in Echo Park, LA / February 2023 Thanks @vaguess_ for the gear! ) Insert - analogue photo taken at Shibuya Guest House, Tokyo, 2019 Mastered by Will @dead_air_studios #bobbywould #relicsofourlife #shibuya #tokyo #echopark #la #oakland #california #lp #releaseday

. . • #mauriciokagel #exotica #deutschegrammophon #dgclassic #1972 #modern #contemporary #avantgarde #modernclassic #vinyladdict #vinyllover #vinylcollection #vinylsecretsociety #vinylfriends #blackvinyl #favouriterecords #myrecordcollection #records #recordoftheday
