Released on September 21, 2004, “Parallel” is the second studio album from West Coast rap duo Chico & Coolwadda 👟
Released on Psssh! Records/FourFiveSix Entertainment, “Parallel” was the follow-up to the 2001 debut “Wild ‘N Tha West”. Representing Los Angeles, California, the duo of Chico (@chicstumpz) and Coolwadda (@high_comedownman) began their rap career by the dawn of the 2000s. Securing a major label deal with MCA Records, the duo would release their studio debut titled “Wild ‘N Tha West” in 2001, which included the single ‘High Come Down’, featuring the late Nate Dogg (R.I.P.). Parting ways with the label shortly thereafter, Chico & Coolwadda signed with FourFiveSix Entertainment, a label started by MTV personality Carson Daly (@carsondaly) and former Loud Records executive VP Jonathan Rifkind. The duo would go on to release their sophomore effort titled “Parallel” through the label in 2004. Production on the album was handled by No I.D. (@cubansoze), A Kid Called Roots (@slowcooked), Daz Dillinger (@dazdillinger), and Meech Wells (@meechwells), among others. Guest features include Truth Hurts, Young Roscoe (@scoedpg), Defari (@mr_defari), Cy Bravo (@cy_bravo), and others 👟
After suffering a stroke in recent years, member Coolwadda worked on regaining the use of his voice. In 2023, Chico & Coolwadda returned after nearly 20 years with a sneak peak of their newest single titled ‘That’s That West Coast’ 👟

These are my top ten ten songs produced by A Kid Named Roots, in no order. Some of yall may know him from his Hydra Beats compilation releases back in the 90s, but A Kid Named Roots left his mark on several notable productions from the 90s to the 2000s. Some of my favorites of his include his work with Talib Kweli, Lords Of The Underground, Screwball and K. Fanat. Salute! What do you guys think of this list? Did I leave anything out? Let me know in the comments #hiphop #djing #dj #undergroundhiphop #hiphopdj #akidnamedroots

I GOT THE RECEIPTS 🎯

My mother smiled when she saw my face up in the Source, “BIGGIE VOICE” 👊🏿

Before social media the “Source Magazine” was considered the Hip Hop Bible, the absolute go to for any info or news in Hip Hop. The “Unsigned Hype” column in the Source gave unsigned artists a platform that put fans, labels and other journalists in the know in regards to their music. Grateful for making that column ✌🏿👎🏾

This video is deeply personal to me and to It’s From the Sole. Earlier this year, I was diagnosed with diabetes. Since then, I’ve lost a significant amount of weight, changed my diet, and shifted my lifestyle in ways I never imagined. I’m still here because I know I have a higher purpose—and that purpose is helping people through this organization. It’s From the Sole hasn’t been as active this year as I faced these health challenges, but the love and support have been pouring in nonstop, and for that I am grateful. This journey reminded me how important it is to listen to your body, take your health seriously, and never give up on your mission. I don’t plan to stop helping others anytime soon.
We all have a purpose and passion in life and please don’t let any things get in way of doing things you love.
Thank you so much @erro44 Eric Roberson for your continued support of our organization and my life personally

Almost everyone knows someone who has faced prostate cancer but too often we forget that many still lose their lives to this disease. And it’s not only about late detection. Prostate cancer can be aggressive and doesn’t always respond to current treatments, especially in different populations.

That’s why quick access to resources and support is critical after a diagnosis. Last month, we lost our dear friend Kamal Cubas, who deteriorated rapidly. TTC and 2Twenty, already preparing for this walk with @zeroprostatecancer, quickly pivoted to honor Kamal and his fight.

In his words, “This is how testimony happens.”
We walk/run for our health, for his memory, and for the health of others. 💙
