Slow Magic brought his drum into the crowd and asked everyone to come closer.

I keep thinking about that invitation.

A reminder to stop sitting off to the side while time carries on without me.

A reminder to let the voices in my head go quiet long enough to hear what’s right in front of me.

A reminder that most of a life happens between the things we’re waiting for.

And a reminder that I don’t have to figure out my entire fucking life to be here for a few minutes of it. I can just bang on something alongside someone else.

For a little while, all that noise had somewhere to go.

Thank you for that, Slow Magic.

Life is chaos. Life is magic.

You’ll miss so much of it if you don’t slow down.
