Dirty hands. Clean money. ⚡️

Heat, storms, long hours and hard climbs—linemen keep going when the rest of us are looking for shade. Respect to the ones who keep the power on.

Hydrated by Water Sux. 💧

Class 81 showed up! ⚡️💧

Yesterday at Southeast Lineman Training Center, we handed out 700+ Water Sux samples—roughly 30 full bags—along with ice-cold bottles of water.

We weren’t there to sell—just to educate, hydrate and let people try Water Sux. Meanwhile, Elevated Gear sold 39 cases as enrollment came through!

Thank you, SLTC, and welcome, Class 81!

Meet Avery.

Growing up, Avery watched his grandfather, Jeff, spend more than 20 years as a lineman for Alabama Power. The two hunted, fished, and tackled projects together, giving Avery an early look at what it meant to work with his hands.

After high school, Avery turned down opportunities to play college football to give linework a shot. He started with a summer apprenticeship at Alabama Power, working around bucket trucks, equipment, and line crews before enrolling at Southeastern Lineman Training Center.

Before graduating from SLTC, Avery quickly proved he belonged. Among more than 200 students in his graduating class, he was one of just 12 selected to compete for the Slim Award. The competition put his training to the test as he climbed poles, changed insulators, completed a hurt-man rescue, hauled a 50-pound bag, transferred across crossarms, worked with a telescopic stick, and demonstrated his knots. He even had to climb a pole with an egg in his mouth without breaking it.

Now an SLTC graduate, Avery is interviewing with several utilities and line contractors while working toward becoming a journeyman lineman. His long-term goal is to return to Alabama Power, where his grandfather built his career.

For Avery, the variety is part of the appeal. “You’re never gonna be doing the same thing twice,” he says. “There’s always something different to do and always someone to learn from.”

His grandfather spent more than 20 years answering the call. Now, Avery is ready to do the same.
