Fan-X this year was absolutely AMAZING!

3 years ago I attended my 1st Fan-X as an apprentice. An apprentice who wasn’t even suppose to be there! 😅
I was just suppose to spot for one day but then ended up being invited to stay all 3. 😳
Now jump to this year and I’m there to pierce!!! 🥰

This may not make much sense to some but Fan-X has changed me in so many positive ways. 🥹 And I’m not even sure I can’t put that into words to explain.
Prior to my 1st Fan-X I knew very little about this culture. I had heard of “comic cons” but had never attended or knew what it was really about.
I’m there to work but with that I have been able to see what this place means to so many people. These fans have such a passion for what they love! It’s a SAFE place where people can come together, be their true selves, dress in cosplay and celebrate without feeling judged and instead admired.
Although it’s once a year it is held for 3 days, giving me the opportunity to meet so many people. I have met clients who later come into the shop and continue to be forever clients. There are others who have made it a tradition to simply get a piercing at the convention. Then there are those who simply stop by to say “hi” and remember me by name and honestly that means soooo much to me. 🫠
I’m not going to lie but some of you really make me feel like a baby celebrity 💁🏻‍♀️ haha I never expected to be in cosplay and get complimented by fans, addressed by my character name and even asked for pictures! Stawwwwppp 🤭🤭🤗😌🥰 haha

I have learned better communication with those on the spectrum and found how incredibly intelligent, passionate and kind this group of humans are. I’ve learned to listen and engage in a more meaningful way. I’ve learned more patience and compassion.
It’s like I was placed into so many “unknowns” just to end up falling in love with it.

I have truly never met so many kind and genuine people.

This was my first time seeing these guys play, and it was an absolute blast! I cannot wait to catch them again, and I think everyone else should check them out as well!
