Who said that you have to invest an excessive amount time into a single shot? Propably with the help of an entire crew serving different departments and high-end rental that’s worth more than all of your belongings including your kidneys.
We don't believe that this is a necessity, given the accessibility the film industry and its technology already reached these days. Especially for small artists, the conventional approach leads to production prices they just can't handle or won’t even consider to accept. We're here to break these conventions & this slide is a perfect case-study to prove our point.

This entire gallery was shot by @catnip_aura on a 9 year old consumer, APS-C camera - a @canon #eos600D.
We then converted the CR2 files using @Adobe DNG converter for further processing in @davinciresolve. Yes, read that twice. This might sound weird, but think about it. Your eyes are constantly lying to you, so you need tools to observe what’s really happening under the hood, right ? Such as proper vector scopes and waveforms, which to my knowledge don’t exist in applications like Ps/Lr/CameraRaw.
After 8+ years down the rabbit hole of professional post-production, you will come to a point where you realize that it boils down to the same basic concepts you studied at the beginning of your journey - at least it did for me.

Simplicity beats complexity, but remember that even the simplest things have their own complexities.

Get yourself the free version of Resolve and try it yourself! :)
