POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

One of my favorite of many @sm.worldwide’s. Felt like fucking with it for a sec so here we are. “Marbles” by Single Mothers, #2 off of Negative Qualities

Excuse the crude artwork//I did it from memory
Excuse when things are out of tune or time//it was all first takes
Excuse that it’s blown out//idk how to use distortion like they do. Slapped this together during my lunch”” break and first pass I don’t care

This song doesnt warrant a cover and I have no idea what it sounds like shoutout to @5below__ headphones but here ya go

Throughout my journey of learning Sign Language and spending beautiful quality time within the Deaf Community, I became aware of the community’s love for stories…and the importance of information sharing…sharing perspective…
That insight in turn has strengthened my desire to share the parts of my stories that are common to us all…

Man Of The House….is my story, but at the core it’s the story of mothers making hard decisions..putting her children above herself, doing what has to be done..teaching them to follow their instincts even if the outcome is unknown .. that love is all that matters in the end.
Tough mamas.

Ps- my mom came to my show today ❤️
Pss- she was my first Sign Language teacher ❤️

Thank you @savvy.tomev for your ASL interpretation.

10 instalments of On the Road ❤️

I’m always quite wary of using the word pride, but this series really has been a career highlight for me.

Playing in bands has been my way of life for as long as I can remember and, while it’s the best thing on the planet, it’s not the easiest thing to do with any kind of frequency, comfort or longevity (case in point: the puke-filled urinal I had to straddle at 3am because the rough-and-ready DIY venue “wasn’t used to hosting female musicians”). It was partly from inconveniences like those that I pitched the concept of ‘On the Road’ to work/@rollingstoneuk.

After years of working hard enough to graduate from living-room floors to a shared Travelodge on the edge of some non-descript motorway, I wanted to create a space for DIY and upcoming bands to give a snapshot of the reality of touring life, but also to celebrate the tenacity required to keep doing what they do in the face of barriers which make it harder.

I think every musician’s story is important, especially the ones that are propping up the underground and doing what they do for the sheer love of it. Billy Bragg once told us that the people who play Oasis covers at the local pub every weekend are just as much his peers as Dua Lipa up on the Pyramid Stage, and that really resonated.

But yeah, I can’t believe we’re already at 10 instalments and I’m super excited to be expanding out to tell the stories from the wider industry as well. Dead grateful for the support from the gang at work, for the gorgeous page designs, and all the contributors so far x

Music authorities need to start doing better to nurture talent and stop relying on the algorithm to bring something viral. The most polarizing and exciting musicians are not novelty products or commercially viable. It is the risk taking of that label on something exciting that leads to a new movement rather than this current regurgitation happening.

Article link in bio, remind me to start taking interviews seriously.

Hello family ❤️ Today we turn to you with a humble heart, asking you to stand with the single mothers in our community. Many of them wake up each day with no steady work, walking far distances just to find small jobs so they can put a simple meal on the table for their children. Some carry heavy burdens alone — no one to help, no one to turn to when things become too hard.

But with your kindness, we can give them a hand to hold, not just to survive, but to have hope and strength for tomorrow. Any support — whether food, clothing, small supplies, or whatever you can share — will mean the world to them and their little ones. Thank you for loving and caring just as you would want someone to care for you. 🙏 #SupportSingleMothers #MothersInNeed #HelpFamilies #LoveAndCare #CommunitySupport @gabriellaimartinez @dimitre1 @kyrieirving @alinasmar85 @yahylrogers @blackhistorystudies
