⭐️ Happy International Women's Day! ⭐️

Here's a capsule collection of snaps taken over the last year of women who have inspired, guided, and supported me. Thank you for your leadership, courage, and kindness.

There are sooo many other remarkable women who aren't pictured here that I also want to include. I hope you know who you are!! ❤️

2025 was quite the year! From moderating dream-team panels to planting baby geoducks, touring oyster farms to teaching oyster classes, shucking at Landlocked to sauna-ing at Glidden Point, here's some of my favorite memories with some of my favorite oyster peeps.

I'm SO ready to take on some major personal and professional projects in 2026, and continue to create space for new oyster service pros & producers.

Happy New Year everyone!!!

Every FI Library book club meeting is open all islanders. It is especially nice to have more people when an author is here, so read the book, or just come and join us Thursday, January 22 at 5:30 to discuss THE LISTENERS and to meet Maggie Stiefvater herself!

Cheers to another elevating oyster family reunion at the #billionoysterparty! Thank you for your incredible work @billionoyster and thank you for bringing us all together every year. ✨

Pete left us inspired about the power of educating young people about their natural environment through oyster restoration. Not only are these students driven to become lifelong environmental stewards, but interacting with their natural environment in group settings is an experience that brings empowerment and a beautiful sense of belonging. ✨

Just three weeks ago we put out seed—and already we’ve got 5X growth on these beauties! Huge shoutout to the Malinowski family at Fisher Island Oysters for growing such vigorous, thriving oysters. The next generation is off to a strong start.

THANK YOU @billionoyster and all of the farmers, chefs and shuckers who come together for the Billion Oyster Party every year. It’s an honor to celebrate restoration, sustainability and community with you!!

If you’re able to, head over to billionoyster.org and make a donation. Lasting environmental restoration comes with engaging young people and communities. The many layers of the Billion Oyster Project do just this. We’re proud and thankful to be involved and it’s been a privilege to watch BOP grow over the last 10 years.

Thanks again @billionoyster for your incredible work! See you all next year!

Why would Fishers Island Oysters only sell to our costal restaurant in the cold weather months, when our prime season is in the summer? 🤔

It’s hard to be sad about missing out on these tasty treats, when what they do in our prime season is so meaningful. ❤️

From May - August Fishers Island Oysters puts their retail business aside to brood oysters for their partners at Billion Oyster Project, working to restore 1 billion oysters to NY harbor by 2035. 🦪

Oysters are a climate change fighting hero, and happen to be one of the most abundant, sustainable and easily farmed sea creatures on the East Coast. 🌎️

A single mature oyster can filter up to 50 gallons of water a day, with a shell composed of roughly 96% calcium carbonate they are an incredible resource for naturally sequestering ocean carbon, and when they die of natural causes their shells make natural off-shore reefs which serve as habitat for a whole host of critters and fish, making them one of the oceans most valuable keystone species.💙

We serve oysters raw, roasted and fried year round, but the Fishers Island season is coming to a close - stop by enjoy the most tasty way of cleaning ocean water and supporting your local oyster farmer! 🦪

Top 10 Oyster Experiences of 2023: #7 Fishers Island Oyster Farm

My recent trip to Fishers Island with @soniabichet_mof was very enriching, albeit brief. This was my 6th visit, but I feel like I learn a ton every time I walk around the hatchery and farm with Steve.

Fishers Island Oyster Farm holds a very special place in my heart because of the Malinowski's. Not only are Sarah and Steve two of the most generous and kind people I know, but they've raised an amazing family and nurtured countless young oyster professionals along the way.

Another highlight of this trip was learning the French style of side shucking, step by step from Sonia, who is a great teacher!

To learn more about FIOF, check out my post about their origin story on my blog!
