Finalists ✨ The immersive fragrance experience developed in partnership with @brooklynmuseum for the Monet & Venice exhibition is a 2026 @beautymatterofficial Awards finalist for Best Strategic Collaboration.

Our founder and scent designer, Frederick Bouchardy, created three original scents meant to “paint the air:” Acqua Alta, L’Enveloppe and Nymphaea. With @small.lisa , Senior Curator of European Art, he shaped a scent arc that unfolded alongside video, sound and score, welcoming visitors into Monet’s vision of Venice.

My favorite designer in the world, @graehmealden, spent the past year creating this magical gown that I had the honor of wearing to the @saveveniceinc ball. Graehme used 50 yards of fabric, 10 yards of ostrich feathers, 450 coque feathers, 400 handmade flowers made up of 12,800 hand-cut petals, and endless patience and love, to create this gorgeous masterpiece. It was a dream to wear - and I even was able to dance without my train tripping too many people 😜💃🏻

In addition, the talented @artfullyawear made by hand matching masks inspired by the constellations, Lyra and Cassiopeia. 🎭💫

Congrats on another fabulous event, Amy Gross and @saveveniceinc!! And so happy to have shared this memorable evening with you, @danagluck @artfullyawear @matthew_yokobosky @small.lisa 🤗❤️

✨MONET and VENICE✨ In October 1908, Claude Monet took his only trip to Venice with his wife, Alice, hoping it would rejuvenate him. Initially hesitant to leave his beloved Giverny, he fell in love with Venice’s beauty, creating 37 stunning paintings that showcased the city’s unique light and reflections. I was happy to see this special exhibit at @brooklynmuseum, which features many of those ethereal works, capturing Monet’s transformative vision of this iconic city. #claudemonet #brooklynmuseum #impressionistart

"Back in 2020, the writer Zito Madu (@zeets7) happened to be in Venice as it depopulated due to COVID-19. He took this time to write a memoir encompassing his experience of the city and his upbringing in Detroit, while roaming the unusually quiet streets. Looking at MONET AND VENICE now on view at the Brooklyn Museum, it occurs to me that Madu might be one of the only people who has ever experienced the city as empty as it is depicted on Monet’s canvases.

MONET AND VENICE is not a straightforward survey of the Impressionists’ work. It opens with a video immersion of the city before introducing you to other artists — namely Canaletto, Paul Signac, and John Singer Sargent — whose work had created a visual of bustling Venice in the cultural imagination. Monet’s paintings, as co-curator Lisa Small explains, differ from his predecessors because he removes the people. His canvases return the city to 'a state of quiet nature,' an experience that, today as back then, could only happen in similar world historical circumstances as Madu’s time there.

In this interview, we talk about Monet’s choice to depopulate the city, his most intense obsessions with time and weather, and why Small wanted to give the famed Impressionist’s time in Venice a closer look." - Sarah

To bring Venice to Brooklyn is no mean feat but New York’s largest #Monet museum show in over 25 years does just that @brooklynmuseum. Bringing together 19 of his Venice paintings (and many other works by the artist), it also reunites multiple versions of the key motifs and affords us the very rare opportunity to compare them side by side. Congratulations @small.lisa and thank you for the opportunity to be alone to spend time with some old friends! 👏🏻💕
