Armonia Health, with its independent practitioners, our family, and clients came together at Arts on East. Channa offered ear acupuncture and Natasha chair massage. Alex Weiss offered music before the Arts on East band started. We had a great time with folks we know and new friends!

Transplanting Traditions Community Farm, alongside partners Tierra Fértil, Sembrando Raíces, and Small Potatoes Farm, hosted our first multilingual, multicultural, and multigenerational agricultural gathering. 🌱

100+ farmers and families, 7 languages, and 9 countries represented, all coming together in Durham to learn, connect, and build a more inclusive food future. 💚

This event was a powerful reminder of what’s possible when the community leads. Thank you to our partners, farmers, and community leaders who made this gathering possible! ✨ #TransplantingTraditions

9.7.20 — Heck of a Harvest

The Gollon Garden - aka, our #yarden - has been good to us this year. We’ve not given it as much attention as we probably could have, but even a small effort, especially with great #soil prep, can you big results even in an #urban setting. I’ve learned a lot from paying attention to our farmer friends!! So many of them. @woodlandvalleyfarms + @tenmothersfarm + @smallpotatoesfarm and others. One big proponent of our #MtBotl⛰ mindset/lifestyle is to #growyourownfood !! One step up. Getting ready for the fall season now, and we’ll yield a little more than just #fruits and #veggies 🙂🤰🏼🤱🏼 👶🏼

I finally got around to making a Coppa and the koji cure had this finished in about a month. This thing is fire and was pretty easy to do. Thanks @smallpotatoesfarm for the pork. #kojialchemy #coppa #cured #kojiyinzer

Hot dang, February was a big month. 🔥 In the midst of all the craziness, sometimes I have to take a step back and remind myself how far we’ve come (swipe right for a few photos of our market garden space from back in July). 👉🏾
•
In February alone, we built a caterpillar tunnel (thanks @farmersfriendllc), put up a deer fence (BIG thanks @smallpotatoesfarm), installed yard hydrants and an irrigation system, got heaps more compost (thanks @atlasorganics), built our first permanent raised beds, planted our first seeds and seedlings, hosted several cooking classes.. aaaand did not get very much sleep. 😂
•
It takes a village y’all. 💛 I’m so incredibly grateful to @erintorg for being right by my side as we get this little farm off the ground, to my farm mentors / fairy godparents Tim and Helga @fourleaffarm for all their kindness and wisdom and beautiful seedlings, and to everyone near and far who has sent words of encouragement as we embark on this wild and wonderful journey. We’re only just getting started ya’ll, so stay tuned! 💪🏾

Adventure school! Biked out to a spot at Jordan Lake to measure how far the water has receded with weeks of no rain and unseasonably high temperatures. They recorded 55 feet! The island we found a few weeks ago has turned into a peninsula and the dried lake bed was scattered with old field stones from before the Haw River was dammed. Even found what might be an old stone tool for scraping! #homeschooling
