Thank you all who came and experience ACTRESS! A week on and the team is still buzzing at the reception to the show. What started out as a small collaboration early this year, grew into a truely special show unlike anything else. We were truely honoured to be nominated for both “Best Cabaret” and “Spirit of Fringe” for our Melbourne Fringe run. Thank you to our amazing team: Writer/Performer - Murdoch Keane Co-Collaborator - Ozzy Breen-Carr Director - Brandon Armstrong Costume Design - Fynn Hansen Stevens Co-Producer - Rosa Ablett-Johnstone Rehearsal and devising spaces @lamamatheatre @melbfringe @thenationaldramaschool And of course all our supporters and partners along the way who believed in what we created! For now Griselda has gone to take a nap… but who knows, maybe another comeback show down in her basement is on the cards. #melbourne #theatre #fringe #drag #cabaret

One last time! There are still a few tickets left for tonight’s closing show. This is your last chance to catch Griselda before she implodes, you don’t want to miss it! SHE’S THE HITCHCOCK BLONDE FROM HELL Griselda von Fistenberg - forgotten Hollywood star. She’s been out of the spotlight after a terrible fall down the cellar steps. And yet there is a person standing before us, she says she’s Griselda, she talks like Griselda, she’s even wearing one of her old gowns, she is many things... but most of all, she is an ACTRESS. In an eldritch cabaret set deep in a basement, witness a whirlwind ride through the phenomenon of star worship. Think a performance by the likes of Judy, Marilyn, Joan, Bette, Liz T, Liza, Ethel and King Kong, but put in a blender then drunk on ice. Featuring sensational stories, bizarre motifs and mangled covers of karaoke classics, It’s glamour, It’s grime, it’s a show you’re going to want to tell your therapist about. My beautiful friend @swaybicrunga asked me to be involved in the fabulous production of ACTRESS back in April and what a joy it has been. From meetings in living rooms, to emails and invites being sent whilst walking across Spain; from the rehearsal room to the most magical and magnetic opening last night! ✨ I am in awe 💛 I feel very blessed to have worked with these fabulous artists (who I also get to call my dear friends!!!!!!!! 💗💗) and I cannot recommend this show enough! Thank you @femmuralproductions @brandon.anthonynewton @ozzbrecar @smallsips_ and @swaybicrunga for this magical journey! I’m simply beaming ☀️☀️☀️ ACTRESS is running until Sunday (19/10) at the meeting room in Trades Hall and we’d love to see you there! Swipe for a well-deserved standing ovation for this mammoth performance ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
