Community 🫶🏼

A core value at Sol Landscapes, Inc.

With this alignment we are called to action in various ways within our community.

Here we served as the demo and logistics volunteers for the @pep_housing rebuild garden boxes project as organized by @petaluma_rotary.

With the help of Jose, who is a skilled colleague and friend, the boxes were partially constructed off site and transported to the Mt. View location where team Sol had completed the demo.

This project was focused on providing access to all residents at the Mt.View Senior Apartment Homes in #petaluma.

It was our pleasure to collaborate with @smarboria and we thank you for the wood donation and the participation in the logistics and final touches .

With @sonomarin materials delivering top quality top soil ! - thank you Billy Bertilucci!

Our friends @petaluma_rotary never cease to amaze us with continued commitment to serving this community. #serviceoverself

Rotarians at work @petaluma_rotary came together for our new member project for the 101st year in service under president Mike Ferris, to rebuild garden boxes for the community of Seniors at Pep Housing, who love to garden.

The existing raised beds were 6-12” tall making it difficult for everyone in the community to access. We joined with Pam Lemos the director of maintenance for Pep Housing to make a difference by redesigning the layout and constructing boxes that are 30” tall. These new boxes will allow all residents who use walkers and are assisted in movement with wheel chairs to access and enjoy their beautiful space.

This community grows loads of organic vegetables and food that they share with each other. The residents were thrilled to have a more accessible place for social gathering and food production.

A HUGE thank you to Zac Wilder of Sonoma Marin Arborists @smarboria
For donating the lumber and assisting in the movement of the materials and the work day today.
Zac and his team cut the trees and milled the lumber for this project, diverting the wood from the landfill and giving back to our amazing community here in Petaluma.

Thank you for all of the super talented and dynamic members of Rotary who spend hours upon hours in planning and implementing this project.

Jack & Jan Grimes, Cary White, Phil Henry, Jeff Dorais, Lori Matthews, Kristen Myburgh, Pamela Valdes, Chris Ranney, Doug Cross, Elizabeth McBride, Royce Van Bebber, Mike Nistler, Joanne & President Mike Ferris & Lena Furlong.

And last but not least thank you to the team @sollandscapesinc and Jose Aguilar for your expertise and amazing work.

A small but mighty group of fine folks.❤️

If you would like to find a home to be of service in the community, consider joining @petaluma_rotary. The work is never done but the projects, fellowship and inspiration you will experience with all of these folks will enrich and improve your quality of life and the quality of life for our community. 🫶🏼

Huge Thanks to Sonoma Marin Arborists @smarboria
For providing the greater #sonomacounty community with expert tree work and local upcycled woodchips as a resource for Sheetmulching.

These wood-chips are on their way to Beautifying the backyard of our Friends house in #petaluma and providing a blank slate for a mix of food forest and drought-friendly perennial pollinator garden.
