POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Let’s get to know Marcela Gómez @iammarcelagomez beyond the meaningful work she does at the Institute for History and Healing. In this feature, we’re sharing a quote she loves and a hobby she enjoys.

Every person carries their own stories, passions, and perspectives. These experiences shape how we see the world, connect with others, and understand the places that matter to us.

At the Institute for History and Healing, we believe our stories matter. We work to bring overlooked histories to light, preserve the places and experiences that shape our collective memory, and create space for healing.

We’re glad to have Marcela on our board as we continue this work.

Follow along as we tell stories, build community, and create space to heal.

Meet Marcela Gómez @iammarcelagomez, one of our board members helping shape the work and vision of the Institute for History and Healing.

For Marcela, every place she visits offers a new perspective, a different way of seeing the world, and an opportunity to learn from the stories that make each place unique. These experiences also inform the perspective she brings to her work with the Institute.

Because places are more than locations on a map. They hold memories, shape our experiences, and influence how we understand the world around us.

We’d love to hear from you: What does a place mean to you? Is there a place that has changed your perspective or stayed with you long after you left?

Tell us in the comments.

I don’t really decide what I’m going to write about. Usually, something—a feeling, a memory, an injustice, a moment I can’t shake—stays with me long enough that it becomes music. I try not to overthink it or make it into something it isn’t. I just follow where the song wants to go and tell the truth as honestly as I can.

A few snapshots from the NSA NYC Annual Luncheon. ❤️

One of the things I love most about this community is that it’s so much more than speaking. It’s friendship, support, learning, laughter, and people genuinely wanting to help each other succeed.

A big thank you to @caitdonovanspeaks for her leadership and service as President. She did an incredible job bringing this chapter together, creating stability, and helping put so many great things in place for the future.

And now we welcome @courtneyhoppernyc as our new President. If there is one thing Courtney does exceptionally well, it’s creating amazing experiences and bringing people together. I can’t wait to see what this next chapter looks like under her leadership.

I’m grateful to continue serving on the Board and to be part of a community that keeps raising the bar year after year.

So much talent. So much generosity. So many great people in one room.

Looking forward to another great year with NSA NYC.

It has been an honor to be embraced by this extraordinary woman. She is a gem 💎 A kindrid spirit and oracular voice on in my life's journey thus far.

Marcela is the author of the upcoming book, The Woman of My Dreams: My Journey to Discovering There’s Nothing Wrong with Me! and the creator of THE C.R.E.A.T.E. FRAMEWORK™, a transformational process that helps you challenge inherited beliefs, reconnect with your truth, and embody the person you truly want to be.

Her teaching memoir isn’t just her story—it’s an invitation for you to give yourself permission to question long-held beliefs, explore whether they’re truly yours, and decide if they align with who you are today.

Thank you @actualmikekopp for sharing her with me! I look forward to more time and talks together. Follow @smarcelag https://marcelagomez.com/

💖Today we experienced a deeply inspiring session. We had the honor of sharing with @smarcelag the founder of this beautiful program, @ellaprogram which began a few years ago with just five participants and has now grown to bring together more than 80 women committed to their personal and professional growth.
It was a class filled with emotion and learning, where we came to understand the true value of our time, our services, and the importance of clearly defining our ideal client. We walked away with practical tools, but above all, with a new perspective: recognizing that what we do has value and deserves to be well compensated.
This space doesn’t just train professionals, it transforms mindsets. ✨
