One question. Different hairdressers. Endless inspiration. ✂️

At Salon International 2026 in London, we at Le Journal Magazine took to the exhibition floor with a microphone and asked hairdressers one simple question:

“If you could shadow ANY hairdresser for a day, who would it be?”

The answers were as diverse as the hairdressing industry itself.

Some chose legendary icons who shaped the history of hairdressing, including Vidal Sassoon and Trevor Sorbie. Others named contemporary industry leaders like Sam McKnight, rising talents, innovative hair artists, and creative professionals from around the world.

Different generations. Different countries. Different creative visions.

But behind every answer was something we all share: the power of inspiration.

Whether it’s precision cutting, avant-garde hairstyling, creative hair colour, editorial hair, or simply a unique artistic approach, there’s always someone who challenges us to think differently, push creative boundaries, and become better at our craft.

And perhaps that’s what makes the professional hairdressing community so special.

No matter how experienced or successful we become, there’s always someone we can learn from.

These short interviews celebrate the hair icons, educators, mentors, and creative minds who continue to influence and inspire our industry.
