Highlight for me of the AAPi Conference 2026 was introducing the gorgeous pups, and their humans, from @smartpups. These gorgeous puppies transform the lives of children with disabilities, and their families. They’re super smart dogs, who are so lovely and patient thanks to the love and attention from their handlers and foster families (we won’t tell anyone about the tummy rubs Harls!)

AAPi Conference Day 1 highlights! I got to meet some amazing psychologists from all over the country, heard some AMAZING and inspirational speakers talking about their work in First Nations communities, and decolonising mental health. It has been such a wonderful experience to attend and also to present at this conference. My brain and my cup are full! #aapiconference2026 #feministpsychologist #psychologyconference #psychologist #antioppressivepractice

POV: you’re the only one on the family holiday who actually had to work 🐕‍🦺✈️

JR’s first flight + our first family trip to the Whitsundays 🌴☀️🌊

Travelling as a single mum of 4, from 7 months to 16 years, with a service dog means we experience family travel and accessibility a little differently.

From airports and accommodation to boats, beaches and tourist experiences, we’re figuring out what actually works when travelling Australia with kids, a baby, disability + a service dog in tow.

Turns out accessible family travel can still look a whole lot like adventure ✈️🌊🐕‍🦺🥰

Here’s a little clip from all the fun at the @smartpups Paint Party last week! 🎨🐶

A massive shoutout to everyone who helped make the day happen and brought the community together. Big thank you to @duluxaus, @officeworks, and @eckersleys for the support, and of course, my amazing and very talented partner @artistesa for always being there to help bring these projects to life! ❤️

Such a great day of art, community, and plenty of puppies! 🐾🎨

We couldn’t be prouder of our beautiful girl GeeGee.

She came in for her very last visit on Thursday to say her final goodbyes before heading off to be placed with a family in need. While it was definitely an emotional goodbye, we’re so incredibly proud of how far she has come and the difference she will make in someone’s life.

We can’t thank @smartpups enough for the incredible work they do, including all the amazing trainers, volunteers, and everyone else involved in between. Thank you for giving GeeGee the opportunity to make such a meaningful difference.

We’ll miss you, GeeGee! ❤️

This time last week was all about the @smartpups Paint Party Fundraiser with @joshwrightart 🎨🐾

What a great event supporting an incredible charity that does so much for children and families in our community.

Every day as your MP really is different - that’s for sure!

Abby spends her days comforting people on their hardest days.
Today, she got a little love back 💛

Huge thanks to her owner Bob for sharing this beautiful girl with us, and to @scwishlist and @smartpups for the incredible work you do across the Sunshine Coast 🐾

Great work from the Sunshine Coast community coming together during our Paint Party to finish off this colourful puppy portrait and how cool to see it featured on Channel 7 News! 🎨🐶

A huge thank you to @eckersleys and @officeworks for generously donating the materials that helped bring it all together.

And of course, an even bigger shoutout to @smartpups for the incredible work they do for our community. If you’re passionate about charity and making our beautiful world a better place, check them out and see the difference they’re making one paw at a time! ❤️🐾

A huge thank you to @smartpups for the amazing opportunity to paint a mural on the side of their shipping container! 🎨🐶

We turned the project into a community Paint Party, with a sausage sizzle, live painting, plenty of creativity, and of course, lots of puppies! A massive thank you to my sponsors @duluxaus , @eckersleys, @officeworks and Cardboard Display for helping make the day possible, and to @winnews_sunshinecoast and @channel7queensland for coming along and documenting the event.

And a special thank you to my amazing and incredibly talented partner @artistesa for all the help and support. ❤️ Such a great day bringing art and community together. Very excited for the next project!

🐶 Looking for something fun to do today? Get down to the SmartPups Community Day before 2pm.

There’s plenty happening for the whole family, with lots of fun to enjoy while supporting the incredible work SmartPups does for children and families in our community.

A big thank you to Sharni, Deb and the wonderful SmartPups team for showing me around today - including a look at the new puppy play pens!

And here’s something I didn’t know: SmartPups currently has 37 dogs in its program, all helping to make an incredible difference in the lives of children and families.
