I just got asked on Stories, ‘what do you like most about being Jewish?’. I couldn’t narrow it to just one! It was a task and a half keeping it to one story page - I could have gone on and on! ✡️ There are so many beautiful Jewish wedding traditions but what are they exactly, and how can you personalize them to best reflect you and your partner? HOW IT STARTED (2011) First picture of me and my then-boyfriend taken 4 weeks after we started dating. This was on my birthday - yes he had my birthday party to contend with 4 weeks after we started dating, poor guy! HOW IT’S GOING (2021) It’s evident I still love black and grey stripes ten years later but during this decade I’ve also worn a wedding dress and two sets of maternity outfits! (I evidently passed the stripe love to my eldest daughter too). Marrying my husband also led me to starting @smashingtheglass after I felt excluded from mainstream wedding media when planning my wedding, and now we’ve widening our message of Jewish inclusivity, identity and belonging with @yourjewishlife too.
