One of the best omakase experiences I’ve ever had.

While in Japan, we had the honor of experiencing @kaikaya_bythesea in Shibuya-Tokyo, and it was absolutely unforgettable.

Every course was a surprise—beautifully presented, incredibly fresh, and packed with flavor. From shrimp and ahi tuna to miso butterfish, chicken, duck, and Wagyu steak, every dish was expertly prepared.

The décor and atmosphere carried a strong Hawaiian influence, creating a vibrant, fun, and welcoming experience.
Ending the evening with Sakura ice cream was the perfect finishing touch.

While Kaikaya By the Sea may not have the Michelin-star recognition of many famous Japanese restaurants, the food, hospitality, creativity, and overall experience were second to none.

If you’re lucky enough to get a reservation, don’t pass it up—it was the perfect ending to our trip. Mahalo Nui @lanaistravelclub @lanai !!

Being dared to eat something? Nah I try everything once. I was Googling it and halfway through, I find out I just had fish sperm. Welcome to shirako — Japan’s creamy, delicate, surprisingly delicious pufferfish milt that fancy restaurants serve like it’s totally normal. And honestly? It IS normal, it’s rich, it’s silky, and once you get past the Wikipedia rabbit hole, it’s genuinely one of the most unique bites in Japanese cuisine. Its foie gras meets uni The real plot twist: the pufferfish itself is deadly poisonous, but the sperm? Completely safe. Nature said “eat the dangerous fish, not the babies” and Japan said “challenge accepted.” #Shirako #JapaneseFood #EatTheWorld #JeepingIt
