Our project Red Shoes was inspired by Hans Christian Andersen's story by the same name - our take being the struggle of a creative person's struggle to navigate a society that doesn't value creativity. It took place over five locations around Seattle's Frye Art Museum as part of a major exhibition of our work. Cuckoo Crow was a story about alienation, destruction and reclamation of one’s power told in a mythical landscape of parasitic birds. This poster was created with real moose legs borrowed from a hunter with photo magic by @smiller555 and costume made in collab with @elizabethjamesonartist.

We are pleased to announce the inaugural On the Boards Artists in Residence for the 26/27 season!

Curated from over 70 applications by the OtB Curatorial Council - Jody Kuehner (@cherdonnashinatra), Janet Wong (@msjanetwong), and Megan Kiskaddon (@megaontheinternet) - these 18 selected artists add to the cultural fabric of Northwest performance, and we look forward to supporting the advancement of their practices. 10 years in Seattle (Part 2) 2021-2026. So many changes, experiences and people! This city annoys and fulfills me - that’s what love is all about right?
