We are so proud of the success that both of our lacrosse teams experienced this past spring. They are now being recognized for their efforts by the Pensacola News Journal.

Julia Frosch became a three-time Pensacola News Journal Girls All-Area Player of the Year after being named their Newcomer of the Year four years ago as a freshman. She recently changed her college destination when she received an appointment to the Naval Academy, where she also hopes to continue competing in lacrosse.

Hudson Mitchell is the Boys All-Area Player of the Year. Hudson was also named the Boys Golf All-Area Player of the Year in the fall, making him the first Crusader to achieve such an honor in those two sports. He will also be attending the Naval Academy where he will be a member of the Midshipmen's Golf team.

A pair of first year Catholic coaches were named the All-Area Coaches of the Year. Congratulations to Leigh Frosch, the Girls Coach of the Year, and to Dan Hopson, the Boys Coach of the Year. Both programs advanced deep into the state playoffs and continued to raise the bar for the next generation of Crusaders.

One of those players is Jacob Smith-Gutenmann, who was named the All-Area Boys Newcomer of the Year. As a freshman, Jacob recorded 58 points with 33 goals and 25 assists.

Way to go Crusaders!

Textbook fast break. Take-away by Guyer, quick outlet to Ben, hits Beaty at the point, draws and dumps to Jacob, with the assist to Barrett on the nice lefty goal!!
