A HUGE round of applause and thank you to the Spring Thing 2026 platinum sponsors! @rhinoskinsolutions @smithrockbasecamp @initiativebrew & @basx.inc have all contributed $2,500+ each to this year's event. These companies are all local to the Central Oregon area, and are proud to be building the foundation that sustains trail work at Smith Rock State Park. These companies are responsible for product giveaways for raffles and auctions ( @rhinoskinsolutions ), a donation matching campaign doubling all of your donations this month ( @smithrockbasecamp ), the dinner provided to all volunteers ( @initiativebrew ), and a full team of volunteers ( @basx.inc ) on top of their financial contributions! Talk about putting your money where your mouth is! These four are staples in the Central Oregon community, and we could not be more grateful for their contributions!

Follow us… cause we’re not a cult.(We checked. Twice.)

Still roasting before sunrise, still keeping the semi-secret coffee thing alive—one invite at a time.

And, in case you didn’t know… we’ve got a monthly coffee club too.

Just remember to keep bringing your own mug. ☕

⚠️ Climbing Access Update: Both the Golden and Bald eagles have been unsuccessful at nesting at Smith Rock this spring. Park staff will be reopening the Monument area for climbing tomorrow, April 30th; and the Bivouac rim campsites will also be reopened.

🪺 Falcons are still showing signs of nesting, so the Smith Rock Group and First Kiss climbing closure areas remain in place. Attached are the flyers for those two closures. Hoping next year will be better for the eagles 🦅

What are you looking forward to climbing on now that the Monument is being reopened? 🧗🧗‍♀️

.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
🏷️

Amazing day of volunteering with friends at The Spring Thing 2025! 🪏🌄

Since 1983, the @smithrockgroup has brought the community together to support projects at Smith Rock State Park. 🧗‍♀️

This year, 350 people gathered to put in over 2,100 hours of work. We talked with people who traveled from all over Central Oregon and even Portland to be there! 🫶🏼

Projects ranged from riparian habitat restoration to trail maintenance. 🦆🐟 Our group was assigned to Misery Ridge (a very fitting name), where we helped build new steps to make the trail safer, more stable, and more enjoyable for hikers. 🥾

It was so fun learning about trail restoration — and even more fulfilling to be part of the work. We have a whole new appreciation for how much effort goes into making our trails accessible! It took us almost 4 hours just to build three steps… and there were probably 150 on the trail alone! 🤯

After wrapping up, everyone came together to celebrate with a BBQ sponsored by local businesses. We enjoyed free food, beer, yoga, live music, and so many fun giveaways — all courtesy of amazing local sponsors. 🧘🏻‍♀️🌯🍻

This was such an incredible event to be part of. Everyone was kind, welcoming, and just genuinely excited to be outside making a difference. Huge thanks to all the volunteers and organizations who made it happen! We’re already excited for next year. 🙂🪏
