When I watch a movie, I do art. It helps me follow the movie without losing interest and it helps me sit still. Today my family came to the studio and helped me put out movie screen up. This means that from November, we can host you and your friends or family for a movie night. We start with a few games, order your fav @ubereats and @gelatomessina while you create together and watch your favourite movie. For those slumber parties where you don’t actually stay the night, have all the fun and you don’t have to clean up! Enquire today: info@artfullness.space #artfullness #movienight #connectingoverart #artandmovies Is this something you would try?

Surprise gig! The excellent Esther Bertram (a fellow Canberra School of Music children’s program alumnus!) is coming to Canberra with cellist Alisdair Henry, as chamber-pop duo @postfromthesky - and my band will be joining them for a double bill gig at @smithsalternative on Sat Oct 31. An immersive Saturday arvo gig to get you buzzed for Halloween evening! Details below, tix at link in bio :) POST + KATE BURKE — LIVE DOUBLE BILL Join us at Smith’s Alternative on Saturday 31 October for an afternoon of chamber pop and Australian folk. Travelling from the Gold Coast, POST are Finnish-Australian singer-songwriter Esther Bertram and UK-born cellist Alasdair Henry. Built from voice, guitar, cello and stomp, their original songs move between close, quiet passages and big choruses with dark edges. Two musicians, playing live, with plenty of room for the unexpected. Kate Burke brings vivid storytelling and decades of experience in Australian folk, including her work with The New Graces and Kate Burke & Ruth Hazleton. Her debut solo album, Familiar, produced by Shane Nicholson, explores landscape, memory and human connection through finely drawn original songs. 📍 Smith’s Alternative, Canberra 📅 Saturday 31 October 2026 🎶 POST: 2–3 pm 🎶 Kate Burke: 3:15–5 pm 🎟 Tickets: $30 Bring a friend, settle in, and make an afternoon of live original music.

The QVS on the 18th of October is going to be a blast. We have 10 performers lined up for you doing a variety of acts. Get your tickets from @smithsalternative The next performer is a QVS newbie. When Short Stop the disabled comedian hits the stage They’ve got a walker, a microphone, Tourette’s and absolutely no idea what they’re doing. Because when standing up isn’t really an option, why not sit down and make everyone laugh instead? Photo by Karen Image description: Short Stop is a white skinned person with short brown hair and dark framed glasses. They are standing leaning on something with their left elbow up. They wear a white suit jacket over a black shirt. They have a closed lip smile and expression on their face as if they are about to laugh. Behind them is some kind of ten in bowling stand and furniture. #Comedy #Queer #QueerComedy #Laugh
