*NEW RELEASE: ONE FORBIDDEN CLOUD*

Last May, I was invited by my good pal @piersoolvai to contribute a track to the @smkobserves Drone Day 2024 program. Nicholas/Piers Oolvai has been such a great person to know and collaborate with during this current phase of my musical development, and this program in particular pushed me to tackle improvisation in a way that I knew I could but hadn't ever given myself a chance to try. I'm so damn grateful.

This release is a single 14 minute ambient piece, and I fully understand that's not for everyone. If you do choose to listen, maybe turn off the lights or close your eyes. Let your mind drift. Lose yourself wherever you wander. Or maybe just relax and clean your room. Idk.

This music thing can feel so lonely sometimes. I wish everyone could understand how I feel, when I feel it... But here I am. There are people in my corner, and I could not exist without them.

Link in bio.

Original artist statement for Drone Day 2024:

"one forbidden cloud is an improvised work, recorded with effected bass guitar in a single take. The piece is both an homage to my past and a nod at my future. It's a recognition of progress that I've made and continue to make, and an affirmation of where I currently stand. It's hard to envision with any certainty what kind of changes you'll undergo over time, but I've realized that hindsight can present you with evidence of change; a chance to reflect, re-evaluate, and adjust."

LIVE SESSION TOMORROW AT 3PM WITH @smkobserves 💥 MOONBEAN is a queer Toronto-based electronic duo performing experimental synth-pop via an impressive live hardware set, singing of identity expression, sexual orientation, inclusivity, consent and community!

I am incredibly stocked, electrified, gagged and simply marveled to have MOONBEAN come into the observational tower for this new Audience session, especially during Pride month, celebrating who we are and expressing ourselves with all the beauty, power and love we have, for ourselves and each other!

We are about to arrive on the moon… and MOONBEAN will be there to welcome us!

My heart and ears were full and blessed with how Drone Day 2024 came together! I could not have asked for a better gathering of musicians and volunteers to make this year, the first live-to-air broadcast and the first to feature live drone performances, so dazzling and wonderful!

Let us first thank the CFRU volunteers who assisted with the live drone segments, without which these portions would not have been possible! Thank you to the live musicians, Sunshine Express, Sonic Express, and my fellow bandmates Sam and Paul, for making it to the station and making fantastical music! Thank you to the musicians who pre-recorded amazing drones, your creativity is massive! Thank you to CFRU itself for allowing this Drone Day production to happen. And finally, thank you good sentries for tuning in this year!

You can find the live-streamed YouTube segments in Scope's bio right now!

The vast majority of the drones created will be released on the Scope's Bandcamp page in the near future, so stay tuned for that release!
