Worth the drive 🍂

If you’re looking for a fall day trip from the Vail Valley, Glenwood Springs is an easy one to add to the list.

🍩 Grab breakfast at Sweet Coloradough in Eagle or Gypsum
🚡 Spend a few hours at Glenwood Caverns
🍻 This Saturday, add Mountain Top Oktoberfest
🌆 Wander downtown Glenwood
♨️ Finish with a soak at Glenwood Hot Springs or Iron Mountain

Save this one for a free weekend—and send it to whoever you’d take with you.

✨If you were planning a weekend in Glenwood Springs, this is exactly what I’d tell you to do. The best part? You can park your car and pretty much leave it all weekend (except for one hike.)

🚨 If you’re looking for an easy Colorado weekend trip, SAVE this for planning.

This weekend was made possible by @visitglenwood — a place we genuinely love and frequently visit in the heart of western Colorado. || AD

Day 1️⃣ — ARRIVE + WALK DOWNTOWN + ICE CREAM + PIZZA
• Arrive in Glenwood Springs and check into Holiday Inn Express Glenwood Springs
• Park your car — you won’t need it tonight
• Grab ice cream at Sundae Ice Cream
• Wander downtown and search for the “Find Your Wings’ Butterfly wings
• Optional stops:
– Doc Holliday Collection
– Glenwood Springs Toy Shop
– Alpenglow Books
• Dinner at Rocky Mountain Pizza Co. or Smoke (some of the best BBQ in Colorado)

Day 2️⃣ — HANGING LAKE + TACOS + HOT SPRINGS + BREWERY
• Free breakfast at the hotel
• Drive ~15 minutes into Glenwood Canyon (only driving you’ll really need to do)
• Hike Hanging Lake (1.2 miles RT and requires a permit, see linked reel for more info)
• Don’t skip Spouting Rock at the top
• Tacos for lunch at Slope & Hatch
• Walk to Glenwood Hot Springs Pool and spend the afternoon soaking
• Dinner at Glenwood Canyon Brewpub

Day 3️⃣ — QUICK HIKE + ADVENTURE PARK
• Breakfast at Daily Bread, Sweet Coloradough, or Rosi’s Little Bavarian
• Hike up to Doc Holliday Grave (short, uphill, great view)
• Walk to the gondola → Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park
• Spend the day exploring rides, cave tours, and viewpoints
• Staying next door = free parking, easy access, quick breaks if needed

I’ve lived on the Western Slope of Colorado for 10 years, and Glenwood Springs has one of my favorite downtowns in the entire state. You can literally walk everywhere from most accomodations and the heart of downtown.

Have you been to Glenwood Springs? What else do you recommend for a weekend trip?

Let’s give it up for the food & drink heroes! 🍷🍤🍺
The Glenwood Springs Education Fund Corks & Kegs event featured a stellar lineup of local restaurants, wineries, and breweries from across the Roaring Fork Valley each serving up their best bites and sips to a crowd of over 800 guests.

Every dish was delicious, every pour thoughtful—and the room was buzzing with appreciation for the craft, talent, and care that went into it all. Events like this remind us just how strong our local food and beverage scene really is.👏

Thank you to every vendor who helped make this evening unforgettable. Your generosity and flavor stole the show!

Please take note of the local businesses that support our amazing non profits and shop/dine with them as often as you can! 💙

Glenwood Springs was the perfect weekend getaway with some of our closest friends. Our #airbnb was incredible, out in the middle of the mountains with breathtaking views. It was such a secluded and relaxing place to be.

The gondola ride up the mountain to @glenwoodcaverns Adventure Park was fun for the adults and kiddos with great views. Jack and I missed this outing because he was having pain from his arm 😞 but it was our plan to take his wheelchair on the gondola.

The Adventure park offered smaller areas for the littles to play and a big roller coaster hanging over the mountain.. the dads were in line to ride when we had a potty situation gone wrong in the sandbox and plans had to change 😂😆 #parentinglife

We enjoyed walking through downtown, seeing small shops and stopping for ice cream. We were there over Memorial Day and there was a cute market set up with lots of talented vendors. My husband had to drag me out of there. We had delicious burgers at @grindglenwood and the yummiest pulled pork, pulled pork and mac & cheese from @smokemodernbbq which I highly recommend!

We spent one afternoon enjoying @glenwoodhotsprings public pool, it was absolutely beautiful and so fun! The pool is gigantic and the water temp was perfect with many benefits! The weather was 60ish degrees and we had the best time splashing and swimming. Jack loved it and his new float from @theraquatics (cerebral palsy float, size small is pictured here). The pool was very busy on the holiday weekend, but big enough that it was not overstimulating for Jack! There are multiple different springs with varying temperatures to enjoy, along with a kids area but we just enjoyed the large open pool!

I can’t say enough great things about our experience, except our stay was way too short! I hope to go back and make this a place we can make many memories together!

I am still memorized by the view we had, I miss it so much! And the chipmunks. 🐿️

I’d be happy to share the house we stayed at if you message me!

Until next time, Glenwood Springs 🤍
