SERPENTINE REMIXED is OUT, available wherever you get your music. Link in bio. I have dreamed of having a remix album for one of my own since I was a teenager. All my pubescent obsessions were electronica acts and their endless stream of remixes, re-interpretations, singles and b-sides were some of my favorite elements of their work. Remixes are more than nifty ways of shaking up a track. They speak to the universality of music and songwriting. They are proof that art made in the abstract, as music always is, has the capacity to deliver the same message but via entirely different means, feelings, worlds and soundscapes. Bringing this collection of artists together has been a wondrous, organic exercise. I did not seek out artists online or on social media. Instead, I turned to my friends, my community, anyone in my orbit with their ear to the ground of what’s new, punk and queer. Other than my good friends that make up @_eprime_, everyone is an artist that came through a friend or trusted collaborator specifically for this project. I got @aboynamedbarbara through @oohmarqui, @tylerstonedidthat through @darrenstein,@zen.ai.do through @matthewzanfagna & @gnosiszoey, @samjgarfield through @amirmichael89, @mascfish through @irdsrv,@smokinhotqueer through @zen.ai.do and @probe7music through @thepeacheschrist. Queer artists know how to rally and we love to create purely to create. And that’s precisely how and why this group came together. We’re delighted to share that SEEK by Nancy Baker Cahill has been awarded Best Feature at the Fulldome Festival Jena! The Fulldome Festival is the oldest of its kind, and has been celebrating the work of fulldome, 360°, and immersive media for nearly two decades. SEEK was shown as part of the Unusual Perspectives program at the Fulldome Festival, featuring works that challenge the viewer to see our world in a new and different way. Taking audiences on a journey through bespoke landscapes of water, sand and wind, fire and forest, SEEK invites the viewer to actively look and listen to the world—discerning, grappling with, and finding the interconnections between themselves and the imperiled biosphere they inhabit. We’re so excited that #CORPUS is in exhibition in 2 places at the same time in #Belgium and in #Louisville! @nancybakercahill 's #CORPUS “ imagines a future of blended, embodied entanglement between human, machine, flora, lichen, microplastics, and microbiome in the form of a towering AR 'symborg'… The soundscape is composed of a blend of heartbeats; fetal, human, whale, cosmos (a recording of black holes colliding), and an AI interpolation of them all.”   #CORPUS is on exhibit at @lepavillonnamur in Namur, Belgium as part of “Other Worlds are Possible” exhibition which “explores how virtual and augmented reality technologies have revolutionized artistic creation and narrative exploration in the 21st century.” CORPUS, also on exhibit at @21clouisville, is a piece in “Supernatural 2.0” where "nature meets technoculture, and the new natural is both organic and artificial Invoking past and future in a critique of the present, these paintings, photographs, sculptures, videos, installations, VR and AR works document both current and future realities while referencing the aesthetic traditions of the 19th and 20th centuries.” #augmentedreality #art #museum
