Between temple bells, filter coffee, and streets that never seem to run out of character, Mylapore became the perfect backdrop. Because some places don’t just make a beautiful backdrop, they become part of the portrait.

Here’s a portrait story of my favourite person from the streets of Mylapore✨❤️🌸

I learnt from @smores_designs that one’s gotta look at the big picture while making art, so they aren’t caught in the details and get lost in infinitely smoothing the colours. Thank you <3

A webinar organised by the Counselling cell on October 10th, 2020 with Ms. Sruthi Mohan. @smores_designs

World mental health day is observed on October 10th every year to raise awareness. There still are so many people who are suffering in silence. And there’s still this stigma attached to mental health which we’ve got to completely obliterate. The problem arises when we take our mental health for granted which is not the case when it comes to our physical health, had it been our hand or leg for that matter, we wouldn’t think twice before seeking help so why shrug when it comes to our brains? Thats because to this date, having mental health issues is considered as a sign of weakness. The toxic society that we live in feeds off the strength we have, the will power that we have to go forward and to heal. With lockdown in picture, a mental health crisis is looming as people are pushed into isolation, its important we let our loved ones know that we are there for them and that they don’t have to deal with everything alone. It takes is a simple gesture of love which could make a huge difference in the other person’s life. All we need is compassion. All we need is love.
