I’ve been getting curious about what the things I’m drawn to are telling me about myself and what I’m craving in my own creative expression. So this roundup of what’s been catching my eye lately is going to go deep.

What keeps showing up over and over?

The tension and surprising harmony between contrasting elements. (Cannot get over the electric yellow chaise paired with the traditional lace.)

Ordinary things made extraordinary through imagination. (That person-shaped cuphard!)

Things that feel like someone actually made them, rather than manufactured them to appeal to as many people as possible. (The embroidered sofa, it’s like tattoos for furniture!)

Movement, irregularity, nature. Things that don’t feel overly polished or predictable. (The beauty of the trees shadows on the side of the building KILLS me.)

Creativity that inspires wonder and delight. (That lizard carved into the chair leg, come on!)

I think all of these things remind me of how much possibility exists when people give themselves permission to be imaginative.

And I’m realizing just how much I’m craving things that feel deeply human. Complexity, contrast, things that refuse to fit into one category. Moments that feel a little magical. Beauty that doesn’t just look beautiful, but makes me FEEL something. That stops me in my tracks, gives me goosebumps, makes me gasp in delight.

And maybe that’s what this little exercise has revealed to me. The individuality I celebrate in design is something I want to embrace more fully in how I express myself, too.

Anyways, thanks for getting deep with me ✌🏼

I’ve wanted a dedicated place for my perfumes for quite some time now. When I stumbled across the playful Marty Cabinet by @smstwrt, I knew I wanted to recreate it as a little "scent hub". Here’s the result 👔
I’m super happy with how it turned out! c:
