Thanks to my lovely IRL friend @sandrarussellart for inviting me to #theartistschallenge.

The goal is to post a piece of art for 10 days to promote positivity and the ❤️ of art.

Today is day 8. It’s also a very special little boys 6th birthday. I was asked by the lovely @smudgesmum if I could turn my ‘T’ from @36daysoftype into a birthday card for her nephew who adores blue tits.

I decided to upload it to @thortful because why not let the professionals do it properly.

I was thrilled when the birthday boy sent me a video thanking me for his card. It’s honestly made my bank holiday Monday and melted my cold heart. 😂💕

Happy Birthday J 🥳🎂🥰. I hope you’ve had the best day ever. 🐑🐄🐖

Another website day for me today but I had my first trip back to the craft club this morning in 19 months. Oh it was good to be back and see other humans other than my own reflection in my screen.

Also had a very interesting @indie_roller chat today with @leona__ace. Definitely have to start feeling the fear and doing it anyway. Next time I hear no I’m going to think not yet.

Anyway, it seems I can’t stop making patterns. Here’s another hero pattern for the mineral brief by @porter_and_brawn and @makeitindesign for #summerschool2021. Crystals for my Divine Discoveries collection.

Okay so I’ve already decided I’m tweaking this before submitting it but thought I’d show you how it looks on a floaty fabric. We’re never happy are we, us artists?

This is the surface pattern I created for the @makeitindesign #summerschool2021 beginner brief 2 - ‘Mineral’. Here you can see the pattern, the swatch and the mood board I based it on.

I knew I definitely wanted to use the sand patterns that the wind creates as a background as well as a sandy texture. I made the sand slightly more pink than our beaches in the UK. When I visited the Grenadines the sand there was a beautiful pink colour from the surrounding coral reefs so this is an in between colour to cover all bases.

I’ve also used a fossil, some seashells and some crystals. The crystals are not true to form because these are the colours I wanted to use but they hopefully give you a feeling of crystals at least. Huge thanks to @smudgesmum for the crystal photos and inspiration. I hope I haven’t sinned too much where they’re concerned. 🙏🏻

I’ve created some packaging using the pattern which I’ll show you in a separate post. Where else would you imagine this pattern?

I have the loveliest ex father in law. He’s always there for my son no matter what so we do like to spoil him for his birthday. After 22 years of present buying I think I’ve managed to out do myself. What else do you buy a golfing gardening ex fireman? Well an antique fire bucket turned into a quirky hanging basket. I bloody love it and he did too. Wish I’d bought one for myself - thank you for the virtual tour of your stock and fabulous service @bucksretroandvintage . Well made it out out for a couple of hours on Thursday. Obvs I’m still bloomin’ recovering from it but I don’t regret it. I never regret a trip to pick up some sea breeze and gorgeous views of the Northumberland coastline. O and some fish n chips of course. Taking the heat packs with us and grabbing a brew for the drive home made the cold weather bearable too. Posting to the gram cos why not and it’s a cute pic of the teen and my Pops. It’s been a while so let me reintroduce myself 👋 I’m Lyndsay the ‘one’ behind Neo Walk! I’ve been making fabulous acrylic walking sticks for 7 years.
It’s my passion.
But why do I do it?
Long story short I lost my leg above the knee 9 years ago, and I found myself in a world of mobility aids that were ugly, grey and old fashioned. I really wanted a walking stick that looked like someone had thought about what I really wanted...
STYLE COLOUR STABILITY So I made myself a stick and found that other people wanted one the same!
Neo Walk was born. I work from home in my little workshop usually with the 4 dogs snoozing around my foot! 🤣 I always have music playing and it’s my favourite place to be...making and creating.
As well as one leg I have osteoarthritis, a lower spinal fusion and newly diagnosed fibromyalgia. Bit of a cursed mix! Was I naughty in a former life? 🤣😈
So I get it ❤️ I very much feel part of the community of winners on here who are living with chronic pain and illness. I want you all to feel like you belong at Neo Walk too, a community of our own. My family. You are all important to me and I want to bring you walking sticks that make you smile, make you proud and confident, and make you feel like a valuable asset to the tribe of your choice ❤️❤️

Omg omg omg!! Look What just arrived BESPOKE BISCUITS - a gift from @smudgesmum (we’ve been friends on here and in real life for a few years now). She said she had something for my belated birthday and these COOKIES arrived!! They are made by the very clever @aphrahannahbakes - I’m bowled over these are all biscuits of my work.
