Yesterday we shared a video with a quick look at the results from our Chinatown Color Hunt. Today we’re slowing things down so you can spend a little more time with the photographs.

To celebrate Pride Month, ten photographers were divided into two groups and assigned colors inspired by the rainbow. Their challenge was simple: spend the morning exploring Chinatown and photograph the world through that single color.

This first group included:

Margo @lifeislife1113 - Orange
Vinnie @vinniebphotography - Green
Elisa @elisabmarie - Blue
Birdie @birds_eye_photo - Yellow
Erik G @snapchita_ - Red

What I love about this exercise is that everyone walks the same streets, passes the same storefronts, and explores the same neighborhood, yet each photographer comes back seeing something completely different.

Take your time with these images and let us know which photograph stands out to you most.

Group 2 results are coming soon!

Sorry for the repost. First try had a mistake. All fixed!

Chinatown Color Hunt: Group 1

For our Chinatown photo walk, we celebrated Pride Month with a color hunt inspired by the colors of the rainbow.

Each photographer drew a color and spent the morning searching for it throughout Chinatown, looking for moments where that color became the subject. Signs, storefronts, reflections, architecture, food, textures, and unexpected details all became part of the hunt.

This first group included:

Margo - @lifeislife1113 Orange
Vinnie - @vinniebphotography Green
Elisa - @elisabmarie Blue
Birdie - @birds_eye_photo Yellow
Erik G - @snapchita_ Red

One of my favorite things about this challenge is how it changes the way you see. Give someone a single color to focus on, and suddenly an entire neighborhood reveals details that might have otherwise gone unnoticed.

Also, big THANK YOU to Nawoko @705.photo.wk for coming along to help out (and babysit all the slow pokes 😜)!!!!

We’ll wander through some of Chinatown’s most photogenic spots including the Bruce Lee Statue, Phoenix Bakery, Chung King Road, the East & West Gates, Blossom Plaza, Thien Hau Temple, and more hidden corners along the way.

DM me for details. Grab your camera, let’s rock!
